Magical and Sad May Trip Report completed

Hi All,
I have attached my completed trip report (pdf) which includes the first 3 days but I did add some pictures that I had forgotten so I hope you forgive me for that. And I know it is long so I guess am long windy as they say. I hope my report shows how much I enjoy Disney and this site. Thanks all.

Great trip report. I love how you end each day with "no boohoos" - that's cute. It sounds like you accomplished almost everything you wanted to, without rushing around and stressing.

I hope you somehow get back sooner, but you're right, reading everyone's trip reports keeps us going until we can return.

You have just made a dreary afternoon at work a ton better. Great report.

I totally agree with you about the differences in planning an adult trip and one with little kids.

Nicely done, kathys, nicely done indeed.

Finngirl thank you. BuffaloBill thank you so much for the wonderful words. Am glad it made you day at work better. Jhugo thanks and you really must have one next time you are there. Now I only had it at POFQ so I don't know if they make them the same at other places. Something to think about and try next time. silly
Again thank you all for reading it as I know it is sort of long.

Great report. I think I will have to have one of those martinis!!!! I would love to go with my girlfriends but they aren't Disney fans... Makes me sad (mostly for them) because if they never go, they will never know!!!

Hope you will be back before you know it!!!! muchlove

JMed thank you and you need to try one for sure. I always feel so sad for those that don't know Disney and don't understand our love for Disney. I think it is because they have lost that inner child. Well that is my theory on that and am sticking to it. laugh We as adults have so much pressing on us with work, home, kids in general life so Disney is a great release of all that. Am not saying Disney is always 100% perfect because there will always be something that will make you say yuck (like the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train not available for me) but it is magical.

I've tried talking some of them into going and they just won't commit... Thank goodness the hubby is along for the ride. We have some amazing adventures and this one will be amazing. I am so thankful for my parents keeping Blondie so we can experience it alone. Hopefully the pics and facebook posts will convince a friend or two LOL

Thanks for the great report. Glad the weather on Thursday didn't impact you and that you got to see the Fantasy parade. Maybe we can coordinate a trip and I will ride ALL the roller coasters with you.

Nice report. Why do you have to wait 3-4 years to go back?

Thanks for writing, Kathy! I loved reading your report. I'm glad that you and Lil had such a nice trip. We were at Hollywood and Vine for dinner on the first day of Star Wars Weekend, too! We probably passed each other at some point (although I assure you, we were not the ones with the out of control child!) We didn't try to do any meet-ups on this trip because we had much to accomplish in a short time and we were traveling with DH's aunt who was likely with us for her last trip to WDW, so making sure that her wishes were met was our top priority, but maybe we'll catch on your next trip!! mickey

Thanks so much for taking time to share your trip with us. It sounds like you had a magical time, and it's so great you were able to share it with your friend. Think of all the fun you guys will have reminiscing together. I loved all of your pictures!

Sorry to hear you won't be able to get back as soon as you'd like; I hope a little pixie dust floats your way to make the time go fast or your next trip to come sooner than you think.

Figments Girl ya loved the Fantasy parade and ya that would be fun to have a partner who will ride the roller coasters. biggrin

JMed you are very lucky that your husband goes...mine isn't interested although he did go last October because friends of ours wanted to go so he went. But I don't know if he would do that again. sad

The Colonel Am saying I won't go back for another 3 - 4 years because I want to make sure Avatar is done as well as Downtown Disney as I don't want the disappointment I had this past trip because the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train wasn't ready (missed it by one week). And our friends would love to go to see Disney for the holidays (as we went for Halloween last year) but I don't know if we can talk my husband into going again. sad So we shall see how it goes. My girlfriend already said she would go with me.

Magic Mirror thanks...I thought that picture of the dragon breathing fire with the Castle in the background was pretty good.

Thanks Mark yes nothing like staying on property.

Thanks Scrappy and JanJ

Alicemouse I understand and I would very much like to do more meet and greets on the next trip. It is nice to really put a face with the conversations.

CEB NYC thanks and yes we have plenty to talk about and re-live. Lots of laughs. And thanks for the pixie dust.

Love your post. We will be staying at POFQ the first 2 weeks in Dec. I now know where to get a great drink. Thanks. We didn't think we wanted a dining plan but you made me rethink that. Great TR.

JudyN thanks and yes we did love them. For me the dinning plan is a must because if I wasn't on it I would always look at the price and not get what I really wanted for dinner. I do that when I go out to eat at our local restaurants. It makes my husband so mad but I can't help it. So for me I have breakfast and a very nice dinner at Disney no matter how expensive the meal is. And our meals were not cheap at California Grill or BOG. But again the meal plan doesn't work for everyone but it does for me. So enjoy your stay at POFQ (as I always do..just love that resort) and I hope John is the bartender when you are there because some times he switches out to POR.

Miss Mikki I just love POFQ. So I gather this is your first time at this resort? Did you request a building? It is so quaint and peaceful especially after a long day at the park. And am not a big fan of martini (meaning it isn't my normal go to drink) but boy did we both love the Chocolate Martinis.

We have stayed a lot of times at Riverside but only one night at French Quarter. It was a few years back, before the refurb, when we had driven back from Key West. We literally just crashed out after the eight hour drive and then were off to MCO the next morning for our flight home. So I feel like it is a new resort for us because we haven't explored or used any of the facilities. We haven't requested a specific building as I quite like having a surprise at check in and we really don't mind although I did request the top floor as I like being at the top of the building with no-one above us.

I truly hope you will love it as much as I do. Can't wait to hear how you feel about the resort.

JoAnn C..I hope that John is on because he just made them awesome. But sometimes he works at POR. I can't wait to hear about your stay in October and what you thought of the Chocolate Martini.
