Has anyone let the Magical Express just get your luggage for you? Last time we went I was to nervous theyd lose them so we just grabbed our bags ourselves. How long does it actually take your luggage to get to your room? And if you arent there will they just leave it in the room for you?
I love this service. I've used it twice and haven't had an issue with my luggage. The first time I used it, my suitcase wasn't in my room when I went back to the resort after spending time in Downtown Disney. I called the front desk. My suitcase was there; it just hadn't been delivered to my room. They brought it up right away.
Last year my suitcase was in my room when I returned after spending the day in the parks after my arrival.
We did it when we left Disney. We took a cab back to the airport and let the magical express take our bags. I was nervous the whole time so I just made sure anything I absolutely needed when I got home was in my carry-on. Needless to say everything was fine!
I have used ME 4 or 5 times and have never had a problem either coming from the airport or going to the airport.
Never really heard of anyone having any problems. Worst case I've heard is having it take a long time. Never heard of them being lost.
I used it in October and was a little worried cause we were getting to the resort so late. We checked in at 9pm ish and then went to eat and check out the hotel. When we got to our room at 11pm they were still not there but the guy came about a minute after we walked in the door. It was fine by us cause I knew we would be up anyway. I liked the service a lot and will for sure use it again.
I love this service! I've used it three times and my bags are always delivered within 3hrs of checking in. And yes, the porters just leave the luggage in your room for you whether or not you are there.
I also recommend the resort airline luggage check-in for when you're leaving. Saves you from having to wait in line at the airport. And it's easier to readjust the weight in your bags in case you go over the airline limit!
If you're coming from a colder climate, just make sure you pack a pair of shorts, sandals, and carry-on sized sunscreen in your carry-on bag and you'll be fine.

Yes, this is another great benefit. If you are flying on an airline that charges bag fees, the Magic Express information you receive the day before your departure includes a toll free number to call to pay for your bags over the phone. They will give you a confirmation number to use when checking in for your flight. Oh, and your boarding pass has Mickey Mouse on it. 
Cool. We were going to get there in the early am. So I was worried about waiting for the bags. Now it looks like we will be arriving around 330. So we should be fine if we just go eat after check in. And I used the airline check thingy last time... Looooved it!
Our flight usually lands around 2pm and the latest I've ever gotten our bags to our room is 9pm. Never had an issue with it and I LOVE the service!
