I've never seen the original. Not sure it's worth visiting in June though. Anyone have an opinion?

That was always one of my favorite parades back in the day! I used to have the album at home, if you can believe it!

I love it. It's one of my favorite parades...could be my favorite. If you're a fan of Disney history and nostalgia, I would highly recommend it. You could say it takes the things people like about the Electrical Water Pageant and takes it up a notch. I think it's more interesting than the EWP, with lots more to see. It's not going to rock your face off the way something like Fantasmic might, but it makes you feel all warm inside; hearkening back to a bygone era.
I was thrilled to see this news! Bring it on!

So thrilled about this news! It's definitely worth seeing if you're there! I think if you go in early June, you'll be fine as far as crowds.
I really enjoyed watching it, even from home.
It really is fun to see "new" (at least to me) parades. That's one of the great things about the parties is to see the parades.
We usually go every June..and while I am totally okay with the little bundle sleeping in the crib being the reason we aren't going this year it's stuff like this that makes the Disney Depression hurt the mostThank goodness for YouTube though right?
You even get AC with YouTube!
This Parade has been in my life since I was a newborn! Now 36 years later (just watched it in March at DLR) it still is a HUGE part of my life. When I was a kid I would get a 45rpm picture record every time we would go because I would play that blasted thing over and over and over and over! I still get a little teary eyed watching it!
I really enjoyed watching it, even from home.
LIFL, have you seen this parade in person during your trips to DLR as a kid?

Oh yeah, many times. It's one (many) of my favorite DL memories.
Yet another reason to want to go this summer...I LOVE this parade. It was the one parade my family would make sure we saw
This was always my Dad's favorite parade! We had the music for it on in the house all the time! (Probably one of the only dads in the world who played/plays Disney World parade and background music through the main stereo system in the house as a general rule)

Luuuucky!
I was lucky enough to see it at 11PM last Saturday night in Frontierland with almost no one around. We got plenty of character attention because of that.
I remember after having seen SpectroMagic for the first time thinking that it was better than Main St. Electrical Parade, but now, after seeing Main St. again, I think I just didn't remember how truly great this parade is. The Pete's Dragon float alone is worth the price of admission. And think about it, a Pete's Dragon float in a MK parade in 2010! A Disney nostalgists dream!
Disney may keep this parade going past their self imposed ending date of Summer Nightastic, but who knows. In the meantime, if you can get there this summer, I suggest you do so.

That's one of the great things about them bringing things back periodically. It makes it feel like even if you didn't see something when it was going on that you might still have a shot in the future.
