Making Your Mind Up..

Nooooooo.....I love it...I hate it...Here we go again....As my ADR clock ticks down I'am now deciding on going back to my original steakhouse The Yachtsmen instead of Shula's...Have you ever switched an ADR and wished you hadn't..So far ( apart from one signature restaurant ) My experiences have been great at WDW...

I've changed ADRs several times between first making them and finally showing up to eat. Never regretted wherever I ended up.

I've sort of settled into a few we really like, after trying a bunch. Used to switch them all the time, and then we settled in to preferences. Creatures of habit, I guess. We like a character experience, and I like the architecture of CPalace, and we love the atmosphere of San Angel Inn. Those are always our first goto reservations. Not the most adventurous, but happy and content places for us.

I have changed my ADR right before we leave for Disney more than once. We go at an off time of year so I have yet to run into a problem with changing the place and time.

I changed my mind a lot before my 180 day window. After it came I left it because I was happy with what I had because I had spend so much time prior thinking about it.

It seems that some of all do that...change our minds. And that isn't a bad thing. For me as soon as I know am going to Disney I start looking at restaurants and writing down all the ones I like. Then I go to All Ears and check the menus and reviews and print out the menus of the ones I really would like to try. Once that is done I get whoever is going with me (unless it is my hubby as he doesn't care) I have them do the same thing. Once they are done we get a Disney night planned and look to see if there are any that we both picked if there is (and there usually is) those are the ones we do. Of course we always make sure we have at least 2 - 3 new restaurants we have never been to on our list. If we don't have any the same we bring out the menus and decide. Seems to work for me so that when am at 180 days am good to go. yay

I am Very much like you I go back and forth before my 180 day window opens, usually we have been on the QS dining plan and just booking a few special ones in, however this year we have the TS dining plan so my mind has been blown I think its changed several times constantly changing and if I see a good review (via napoli for example) the list gets longer instead of smaller!!!!!

usually by the time the window comes around I have usually bored my mother to death with the "so which ADRs have we decided on?" we both love Disney but I think I push the poor woman off the edge!!!!

Well Amy1989...do you look at the menus? And does the other person going with you do the same thing..meaning listing their favorites and checking out the menus? And I always do the Basic Dinning Plan. So you don't find any on your lists that matches hers? Ummm.....that makes it tough. Maybe you should just put them on a small piece of paper and put them in a hat and pull them out. wink

Oh yes we look at menus that's usually what makes the list grow!!! we usually look at the list together and make a list of ones we both agree on then ones one of us like the sound of more than the other and then try and compromise between us but

is the basic dining plan where you get 1TS, 1QS and 1 snack each?? ours are labelled slightly different to yours I think.

we can usually agree on most but what tends to happen is we will have it sorted, then I'll come in one night and say something like "so I've seen a review of ________ and I think I wanna go there aswell" my problem is I have to many I want to visit but not enough room in my tummy or time in the holiday!!!!!

Hi Amy1989
Yes the basic dining plan is 1ts, 1qs and 1 snack each. I understand not having enough room in your tummy. LOL Well am sure when all is said and done you will make wonderful choices. And I know reviews can drive you crazy.

LOl Sorry, as I read your post I was reminded of eating dinner last night with DH. We decided to watch tv and eat on tv trays in the living room (I know, it's real class). As our two owner cats (they own us, we openly admit it) started to hang over the back of the chair or quietly whistle as they cross the arm of a chair, my DH looked at me and said, "This is why I don't "do" character dinners at Disney. I really enjoy a week of NOT having an animal looking at me while I eat." WE NEVER go to character dining.

In answer to the original question, we have always tried to stick with the 1 credit TS meals to have a meal a day, BUT with F&W this time around, we are going to Yachtsman for the first time and if I tried to change the ADR, I would be left home with the cats! My DH loves Le Cellier and we used to do the lunch for a single TS, but can't do that anymore and frankly, again, we are at F&W.
