Massage at the World

So my partner and I have booked a treatment at Swan & Dolphin spa on our trip next week.

My girlfriend is having a facial treatment while I am having a full body massage.

Now, I am male and it will be my first time (kind of, had a legs and back massage previously) having a full massage.

I know it is a very professional spa and not worried about that side of things, however can someone explain the process to me in regards to when we get there?

I understand we will be given a robe to wear? Silly question should I be naked underneath or leave on certain items of clothes?

What I don't want to do is have a situation where I am suppost to be naked and I am not or even worse the other way around.

Lol...Well I wish I could help you here, but the only massage I have ever had was in Turkey at our hotel..I was told to strip down to my underwear and put this large towel around me..I'am sure someone will give you an answer..But I'd guess you wouldn't be nude.. eek ..As long as your wearing your Mickey ears... laugh

They will tell you, I would keep your underwear on and that's what I do personally, however the therapist will usually tell you that it's up to you. Smile please report back as I'm booked into the Mandara spa in October!

I can't say specifically for WDW, but I often do massages on vacation while my husband golfs. (It would probably be cheaper if I took up golf. laugh ) The person that gives me my robe usually tells me it's up to me whether I want to leave my undies on. If you're not sure, I say leave them on. You can always take them off later if you need to, but you may not be able to put them on if they're locked in a locker somewhere.

Most places will tell you that it's up to you and they will work within your comfort level. If you do chose to not wear your underwear they will have large sheets/towels for you to cover yourself with.

They will also ask you if you want to be messaged a little lower and they are very professional in rolling the top of you underwear down some with a towel until you say stop April they just stop. We did Saratoga Springs Spa. That was my first full body message and I loved it!

I thought id give a little update as to my experience at Swan and dolphin (currently waiting to go to the airport for the journey home Sad ).

I was booked in for an 80 min Swedish body massage. I ended up with a gentleman, who was very nice and polite and very helpful. Unfortunaltely, for whatever reason I couldn't fully relax properly and didn't enjoy it as much as I could have.

I kept my underwear on however given the creams and things they use it probably would have worked better without.

Once you're finished they take you into the temple where you can relax with a drink of water or tea.

I did book in again yesterday but this time it was for 50 mins and this time ended up with a lady who did things a little differently. Such as warm towels around my feet and a pre warmed bed and eye mask when I was facing upwards.

I relaxed a lot more the second time, I guess it's about finding someone that makes you feel comfortable or maybe it was the fear of the unknown first time Smile

I'd probably enjoy this if I ever get over my dislike of other people touching me (spouse excluded, of course!). I'm sure my back would greatly appreciate it!
