Maximizing my Disney!

As I wait (impatiently... waiting ) for the final documents of our DVC resale, I've already started the planning. However, my planning has evolved from just November 2014 to now include trips in January and February 2015! yay We are going November 7-14 and doing the W&D half again. Then, my parents are renting a house in January (as they do every year) and my Brother and Sister in law (and Nephew who will be arriving this April Smile ) are going to be going for about 10 days. Since we most likely won't be going in November 2015 since we might be planning to start our family, I figured we could go too! (it helps that I work for my parents so time off is usually easy to snag, plus they are planning on closing the store for 2 weeks anyways) We'll be staying at the house with my parents for the most part but plan on using some points for a couple nights hopefully at AKL. Then, DH and I are thinking about doing a long weekend in February and run the Princess Half (maybe even the Glass Slipper Challenge).
Only the November trip is for sure, but I'm pretty darn excited about the possibility of 2 extra trips to fill my Disney needs! My family thinks I'm crazy that I've got to plan kids around my Disney trips laugh

Every time I think about DVC, I think "we can't afford that" and then I think about how much I've spent just in the last year (and the coming year) on trips and I kick myself. We've got to get some debt paid down and then it's going to be time.

Have fun planning! mickey

Sounds like you're being very responsible, taratru! Great job! When you're ready to buy, check out the resale contracts at the timeshare store and dvcbyresale.com and remember to carefully consider the annual dues as that will have much more bearing on how much you pay over time than the price per point.

Good advice! We bought through the Timeshare Store and were looking at BLT and AKL. AKL seemed cheaper at first with being less in price per point but once we factored in the difference in annual dues, BLT looked like it would come out cheaper (or at least even). We liked both but ended up going with BLT for 2 main reasons, 1) walking distance to MK and 2) the contract was 3 years longer
