Millie's 2010 Trip Report

WooHoo!! We'll arrive "Home" a week from today!! I Can't Wait!!

Ressies are in place:

Dinners:
Cape May Clambake (New for us)
Le Cellier (DINNER!!!!)
The Wave (New for us)
Kona Cafe (New for us)
BOMA (old favorite)

Lunches:
Earl of Sandwich (hoping for their Holiday sandwich)
Via Napoli (New for us)
Le Cellier (if I can talk DH into 2x in one week)
Flame Tree BBQ

Breakfast - we don't usually do breakfast, but...
Kona Cafe - THE BIG KAHUNA!!!!!!!!!!!

We'll be mixing in some other CS meals depending on where we are. There are a few desserts I'm hoping to try along the way - thanks to this board!!! I'm so wanting to try the Grapefruit Cake at the Brown Derby and an Eclair at the Boardwalk Bakery - thanks Joe, the Carrot Cake Cookie at Writers Stop....etc. etc.

Anything I've missed????

I'm getting so excited, I can't stand it!!!

I've heard that they have a special sandwich for Thanksgiving...probably a turkey/cranberry combination....I think someone on this board posted about it but can't recall for sure. I'm sooooooo excited, we've had this trip planned for over 300 days...dang that count-down clock Smile

Sounds great Millie! clapping Cape May Clam bake sounds great.
If Scrappy only ate seafood. Oh well. We always did Kona for breakfast, never did it for dinner, but heard good reviews and we're doing it in January. Glad to see you got into Le Cellier, we have not been able to in a while. The rest look good too! We will be waiting for that trip report!.

Since we'll be driving down from Charlotte when we go, can you let me know how long it takes you? We're counting on about 10 hours, adding in stops for the dog.

And I'll be most anxious to get your opinion on Best Friends. We have a Villa reserved for Gus when we are there Smile

Happy to Jeff. But I suspect the drive will be longer due to Thanksgiving traffic. We're actually thinking of splitting it between two days...getting through SC can be brutal! Plus we'd like to get in early in the day since our first night will be at the home of our friends.

I'm planning on bringing my laptop to post some "real time" TRs...not making any promises though Smile)

Last time I tried this we weren't at the resort all that much! I do like "reliving" our vacation through a detailed trip report...so I'll get one posted one way or another!

Bella, This will be our first breakfast at Kona Cafe. I'm planning on having the Big Kahuna, which sounds like a little of everything...I'm especially interested in the Macadamia pancakes! and yuuuuuuummmmmm is the perfect description Smile)

Not yet, but believe it or not, on this trip Breakfast on Friday and dinner on Saturday! We always try and eat at one new restaurant (at least) on each trip. We're trying 3 new restaurants this trip!!

I'm angling to get a trip to Earl of Sandwich in Houston when we're down there for Thanksgiving; I wonder if they have the holiday sandwich there!

We have so many fantastic meals planned that we'll need a wheelbarrow to load ourselves into our truck to go home!!

But HEY it is THANKSGIVING!!! The only thing missing will be football...guessing we'll see part of a game somewhere along the way!

We had our Thanksgiving potluck at work yesterday...just getting primed!! There was a table with at least a dozen homemade desserts...I personally was responsible for two of them - Maple Spice cake and apple pie yuuuuuuummmmmmmm!!

We're on the road. Stopped in Lumberton, NC for dinner. Hope to drive until about midnight and hit the road again in the morning, we should be in Orlando by noonish!! More updates to follow.
