Multi-room stays

A friend has asked me to help plan her family vacation. And because even when my own trip is planned and I still look at other trips I COULD plan, I agreed. All final decisions are hers, I'm basically just doing the "grunt work", pricing options and giving choices based on her wants. I'm learning a lot!

My question is...How do you go about booking a multi-room stay. I'm assuming it's done by directly calling Disney and making the reservations, versus doing it online? I would also assume that you can get adjoining rooms? The possibility would be either two rooms or 3 rooms and I'm sure they would want to be close to each other. They would be staying at only one resort so that wouldn't be an issue, just the need for more than one room.

And for those wondering, yes I have given her the choice of a 2 bedroom suite, but for them it would be cheaper to get more than one room. I still think they'll pick the suite but just want to know what the expectation is for more than one room.

I don't know if this is of any help to you seen as I have booked from the UK but for your vacation later this year we booked 2 rooms just with different reservation numbers, we are all linked up to eachother on MDE so i can see both rooms and we are staying at POR

what we plan to do is nearer to the vacation to send a fax to POR asking for rooms next to eachother (hopefully connecting rooms too)

We are going in June and have 3 rooms booked. We did not request any connecting, but we have a 1bedroom and 2 studios. Yes you will have separate reservation numbers but can connect them all on MDE. it would be best to do all your ADR's and FP+'s on one account.

So basically you book 3 separate trips, theoretically paying 3 separate bills. Did you do it online or did you book by phone?

If we book more then one room, we always book by phone. Yes each room always has its own reservation number. Even single rooms we book by phone usually to put any room requests we have.

Hi Tink, Disney Reservations can assign your friend's party a "travel with" number. They will make ever effort to locate the rooms as close together as possible, sometimes even resulting in one party receiving a free upgrade if a room is available. You can also request guaranteed adjoining rooms by calling Disney directly.
