I am terribly excited to announce that last week, we booked our stay (through my lovely CM of a sister--go say hi to her in Tomorrow Land! Her name is CHEYENNE VERSACI. Tell her KACIE sent you! ) for my birthday celebration in November!
DETAILS:
When: Wednesday, November 28th to Monday, December 3rd
Where: Coronado Springs, Preferred Room
Who: The usual suspects, myself (8th grade math teacher at an inner city all boys school) and my wonderful boyfriend Preston, with special appearances by my mother and sister
What: Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, ADRs, Sunshine...
Preston's birthday trip was FUN OVERLOAD, and for sure a jam-packed, roller coaster of a trip. This trip is going to be more low-key and romantic. Hot-tubs, naps, champagne, leisurely strolls through the holiday-fied parks and resorts. I am really looking forward to it. Especially because I do something I NEVER do...take time off from my job. I cashed in 3 of my much hoarded personal days for this trip. We thought about going Thanksgiving week when I have time off, but the flights were off the charts crazy expensive. So, time off it was. I'm sure my boys will be fine without me for a few days.....
Alright, three things about this trip (2 are questions)
1.) Originally, I had my heart set on a deluxe resort. Well, everything was out of our price range (even with my sister's discount) expect WL and AKL. I have no desire to stay at AKL unless I get to see constant animals, and there was no availability for those rooms. WL seemed like a good idea until my sister read us the room descriptions. NO KING BEDS. Fulls + Bunk Beds. For upwards $300 a night? They are trifling! So we settled on Coronado Springs (POR and FQ were all booked). Funny part is my parents were down there just this last week, got to WL (where they were originally staying), could only get these crazy full and bunk bed rooms, and then transferred to Coronado and loved it. So, I have high hopes (as usual).
2.) I started to make our ADRs this week. Now I know this is a last minute trip, but according to crowd charts, historically, one of the least crowded weeks of the year. I planned an August trip in July this year too, and got every single ADR we wanted, including Le Cellier. I am having a hard time booking a few places, including Le Cellier. What gives? Is this actually a really crowded time? Was my previous success a fluke? What should I do?
I currently have Tusker House brunch, Cape May Cafe breakfast, Tutto Italia, Kouzzina, and Les Chefs de France all booked. I am willing to sacrifice Tusker house if Le Cellier EVER pops back up. I'm keeping an eye out.
3.) Also about dining, can someone please explain the Be Our Guest soft opening? Are they accepting walk ups? When? How? Should we even bother?
Thank you in advance for any tips!
