My ideal dining plan

Does not exist. sad

The standard plan is not quite enough food, and the Deluxe is WAY more than I need.
I wish there was a plan that had two counter service, one table service, and a snack.

Does anyone else feel the same way, or do the dining plans work well for you guys?

The regular dining plan has always been enough for us because were not big breakfast eaters. We usually just grab something quick in our rooms that we bring from home.

I know what you mean about the deluxe being too much food sometimes. I did the deluxe plan in February and I used ALL of it without a problem. My trick was booking 4 signature dining meals and eating a sit-down breakfast at our resort almost every day. On the last day I was short one meal but made a great one out of 7 remaining snacks.

I agree that the regular plan isn't quite enough. I usually will buy an extra meal/snack while on that plan but it still comes out cheaper than paying for all the meals without the plan.

Same here. We did the deluxe dining in 2008 when there were 17 of us. It worked great for the grand gatherings. Usually my DW and I get the regular plan and it works well. I think we'll try the deluxe one more time when we want to splurge at the 2 credit restaurants.

I agree! I was explaining the dining plan to my parents and that's exactly what I said would be the ideal plan.

The deluxe works well for us. We do a sit down breakfast and a lot of signature dinners. Sometimes we do have meals left over. I am not a breakfast eater at home but I sure have learned to enjoy it while in Disney!

I'm the same way. A bagel or a bowl of cereal works fine for me when home. When I'm on vacation, give me the works.

See, i would like a DDP that has 1 snack per day and 2 TS per day, as lots of places i want to try are 2ts credits. Plus we arent really big breakfast eaters, we usually get by with a pastry or something.

The deluxe was way too much food for me and hubby. We constantly felt full and sluggish. Plus, it just seems like a lot of wasted time waited for your ADRs and the actual meals. It was nice to get to try so many restaurants in one trip, but we probably will not do it again. The standard works nicely for us.

It sounds like Disney needs to make a "Magic Your Way Dining Plan" (tm) laugh Just like the tickets, you can choose what you add onto your dining plan and pre-pay for only those meals! (Disney? Are you listening? biggrin )

Maybe the meals will get cheaper the more days you add on!! "The More you Eat, the Less you Pay per Meal!"

They would probably just call it The Tables in Wonderland... lol

But yeah... I would LOVE a personalized Dining Plan. Pay for how many credits and quick serves you want, and be done with it.

I'm hoping that we have the right plan for the Deluxe on our upcoming trip. We have 6 Signatures in our plans for our 7 night trip. One of those is CRT for breakfast, but all the rest are dinners. I haven't made ADR's yet (2 more weeks), but with my plans, we've got just 2 meals per day, which I think should work out well.

I know that some might say we aren't getting our money's worth, but I don't want to stuff myself either. And we want the Deluxe so that we can try more signature restaurants.

I would like one with 2 TS credits and 1 CS credit a day. That way on the regular plan I wouldn't go through all my TS credits too quickly, because I always do a lot of signature dining, and that just uses them all up. I do like the deluxe plan for that, but even doing the signature restaurants, I'm eating two TS meals a day, and I don't like doing CS when I'm on the deluxe plan, because I don't feel like I'm getting a good value.

Personally it's gotten to the point that I don't use any dining plan anymore unless I can go when it's free, and I stay value, otherwise a room discount and TIW is almost always a better deal for me.

I would never do the dining plan. I eat light for breakfast - a granola bar is enough - followed by a mid-morning snack. I like my main meal midday, so I wouldn't get my money's worth using a table service credit for lunch. Then a counter-service dinner, or maybe just another snack if lunch was especially filling. And no way I would eat dessert twice a day - probably wouldn't get it even once.
