My Trip in February, I could use some feedback on some ADR stuff

I'd appreciate any feedback if I'm trying to do something that just won't work

We are on DDP (free yay )

Feb 18 - Arrival Day
Not sure when we are getting there, but I expect it will be around 3.
The plan is to check in, and relax till a 6:30 pm ADR at Kona Cafe
After Dinner head to MK for parade and Wishes.

Feb 19
RD at HS, we will probably eat at Sunset Ranch and Rosies for lunch (BBQ and Burgers)

My Problem is that my original reservations were for Boma (but with Fantasmic getting offered we switched to HS), and I don't relish eating at HS. If there is a 2nd Fantasmic, great we could do a 5pm at Whispering Canyon or another resort, otherwise I think we have to eat at HS

Feb 20
RD at Epcot
QS Lunch either at Sunshine Seasons or Tangierine
5:30 Dinner ADR at Biergarten
We don't plan on staying for Illuminations, its not worth the scene to get out

Feb 21
RD at AK
QS Lunch at Yak And Yeti

If we cant do Whispering Canyon on 2/19, we can do it here otherwise I would put Boma back in
ADRs at 6 either way

Feb 22 - Departure Day
We are going from WDW to the Kennedy Space Center
So we plan on a pretty full day at MK

Quick Service at Columbia Harbor House for Lunch (Fried Shrimp anyone?)

I hope someone has a good idea for my HS dinner

Thanks
Scott

We ate lunch at Sci-fi Drive-in last year and thought the food was pretty good. Dessert, not so hot, but we loved our entrees. The downside to Sci-Fi is the weird tables, you can end up sharing a car with children that are less than well behaved.

I've only eaten at The Brown Derby, Sci-Fi Drive and 50's Prime Time Cafe and liked them all. Have you looked in to booking the Fantasmic Dinner Package? I have it booked for this year at The Brown Derby.

We love the Brown Derby, and it doesn't have to be crazy expensive if that's a concern. We like to do the Cobb Salad...so filling, and it's the best imo (especially since it's the original.) I believe on the dinner menu they have it as an app for two, but I just order it for myself. If $$ isn't an issue, go for just about anything! We have lots of HBD fans around here who can offer other insight into the menu.

I was very pleased with my entree (Sterling Silver Pork Chop topped with Smoked Gouda and Apricot Preserve served over Napa Cabbage, Bacon, and Potato Hash with Apple Cider Jus) last year. I may get it again this year.

One thing to note... The Brown Derby is signature dining so it will be 2 credits per person. It is worth it.

Oh...duh...completely missed that you were using DDP. I never think about that since we're locals Smile

I'm not opposed to going off DDP for a special meal (I'd probably pay OOP, cause I don't think we would be looking at a big $ since I bet DW and I will go Cobb/Dessert). We could always add on a TS meal!

At Brown Derby my DS 12 would have a hard time eating off that menu. If they continue serving the corn chowder and crimini tortellini, that would work. Perhaps a soup and a dessert and get him a hot dog at F! If he's hungry? Do they work off menu?

One big plus on Brown Derby is that it takes away a buffet/all you can eat meal. (I've been watching my weight)

Also feel free to toss out ideas on anything else.

OH AND A BIG THANKS bighug TO ALL ABOVE AND TO THOSE WHO READ BUT DIDN'T HAVE AN IDEA

This isn't the biggest community, but it sure is the warmest.

We're doing the Kona Cafe for dinner when we get to WDW on October 17th. I've heard good things about it, but I'll be sure to check back in with you and let you know what we thought.

I like the idea of the SciFi but we are a party of three, so it seems like one of us will get left out.

But we love the action/entertainment restaurants. 'Ohana, Biergarten, 50's Prime Time. This time a return to Biergarten and probably Whisering Canyon.

have no fear if you are a party of three at the Sci-Fi. There were three of us last year, and we sat at a different "style" of table. It had a car front attached to a regular table.

I really don't care for any of the dining options at HS either - so if we are not rushed and have some extra time, we've been known to take the boat from the entrance of HS over to the Boardwalk, and eat there (either on the Boardwalk, like Kouzzina, or over at the Beach or Yacht Club) then walk back to HS or take the boat.

Otherwise, Mama Melrose's is our hit and miss go to - some years it's been really good, some it's been underwhelming.

This is my favorite day! I love Tangerine Cafe and Beirgarten is lots of fun!

For your Fantasmic day you could leave the park and do an ADR at a nearby resort. Yachtsman, Big River Brewing Works Kouzzina and ESPN Club are all close by.
