The Mystery of the Hat Box Ghost from Haunted Mansion

What's they mystery behind this character? Isn't he one of the "Hitchhiking Ghosts" and the end of the ride?

Or is he the ghost that plays the organ in the ballroom?

Nope, he's from Disneyland, but he vanished not long after opening. Here's a little history

Will we ever see him at WDW's Magic Kingdom?

My completely uneducated opinion is that he's great for merchandising I don't really need him in the attraction. Rumors say that Del Torro's new Haunted Mansion movie may center around his storyline. If that's the case (and if the film is a smash hit) then I can see them adding Old Hatty into the attractions, but that's all yet to be seen.

Maybe if you're correct and the movie is a hit and centers around him, the HM ride will be even a bigger "Must Do" just like what "Jack Sparrow" did for POTC.

It would be awesome if this movie could give the HM a popularity boost. Not that is needs one amongst fans, but the whole POTC franchise boost was fantastic.

I was so disappointed in the Eddie Murphy Haunted Mansion Movie. I really had hoped it would be a wonderful drama and it was just so cheesy. If Del Torro's film really captures the spookiness it would be so wonderful. Some funny is great, but it is the Haunted Mansion. If done right tere could be a whole new generation of non-Disney fans out there that get sucked into the Disney World through it.

The Hatbox Ghost is awesome. In all honesty... if they "WOULD" incorporate him into the ride. They should do like the Hidden Mickeys, and hide him throughout the attraction. Outside and in.

Del Torro is very good with dark humor, so let's hope that transfers over into this movie.

I like that idea a lot! The Eddie Murphy movie was a COMPLETE let down but my kids love it! Really excited about the new movie. Hope it's less cheese and more creepy. No slasher horror movie but Alfred Hitchcock kind of scary...

Its been easily proven that scary movies can be done without the gore. You know... take like the scares of The Ring and such... Were talking about a Ghost who carries his head in a box! The ideas that keep coming to my mind... id love to see. You can get both funny and creepy with that.
