I heart netflix!

and the Disneyland one has my friend, the Imagineer, Larry Nikolai in it! Thats how I found him!

You learned about him from the video? Or you learned where he was?

My Folks worked with him and Ron Schneider (you would know Ron as the Original Dreamfinder with Figment) at Magic Mountain in the late 70's. My mom came across the DVD's that yall are talking about and we were watching them and Larry popped up on the screen..in unison we both said "No way! Cant be the same guy!!!" So I went on a search on Facebook and found him and sent him a message! Sure enough! It was the same guy! He used to work in the tin type (old western pictures) shop at Magic Mountain with my dad and remembered me RIGHT AWAY...I was 3 or 4 when i first met the both of them...we have discussed our love for Disney and his working with the company since! I hope to catch up with him when we go to DLR in May!

Wow -- incredible story! What kinds of projects does he work on in DLR?

He is a concept artist. Most of the art work for the new little mermaid ride is all his.

As a Senior Conceptual Designer at Walt Disney Imagineering, Larry Nikolai has helped to create attractions for Disney parks around the world. He has been honored to help re-imagine new versions of many classic Disney shows- from "it's a small world" and "Storybookland" at Disneyland® Resort Paris to "Country Bear Theater", "Splash Mountain", "Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare", "The Enchanted Tiki Room with Stitch" and "Monsters Inc. Ride and Go Seek!" at Tokyo Disneyland®, as well as "Journey into Imagination with Figment" at EPCOT.

For Tokyo DisneySea he was lead conceptual designer and art director for The Arabian Coast, where he was responsible for introducing enchanting new attractions and characters to the Disney family including "Sindbad's Seven Voyages" and the "Caravan Carousel".

At Disney's California Adventure® park, Larry directed the development of the characters in "Monsters Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!" and is currently working on the upcoming "The Little Mermaid- Ariel's Undersea Adventure" attraction.

Larry has also designed, sculpted and painted many collectible items for the galleries at Disneyland® Resort as well as the Disney Classics Collection and Disney Catalogue.

When it comes to character portraits, he strives to portray his subjects in compelling situations with dramatic light and magical environments. "I want to present these characters as real beings" he says, "with a pose and attitude that truly reveals something important about their personalities".
