New Captain Cooks and New Dole Whip kiosk at Poly

Surprised no one posted this but anyway, the New Captain Cooks reopened, I'd say about two weeks ago. The Tonga Toast lives on for breakfast! yay And for lunch and dinner, they've added fish tacos, coconut curry meatballs and other items. The Food Blog only posted pics of the tacos and meatballs.

Coconut Curry Meatballs

Fish Taco (Apparently, they pack a ton of heat and spice according to the Food blog.)

Now, some good and bad news regarding the Dole Whip kiosk, which is in a separate location that is nearby Capt Cooks. The bad news is, there's no more self-serve Dole Whip per cup. sad sad But on the other hand,
you can get the Dole Whip in a souvenir tiki cup or a Tiki Sipper if you want the Dole Whip float.

Regardless, I highly doubt the new Tiki bowls and sippers will soothe and compensate for the loss of self serve Dole Whips for most.

DH will be excited about the Pineapple float. Personally, since I loathe all things pineapple, I was hoping that the demise of the self-serve Dole Whip would be softened by the addition of the orange flavored soft serve. No such luck sad

I did read this article but when I saw Coconut curry & meatballs.. yuck ....That sounds against the culinary law of cooking..Try ordering a pizza in Italy ( The country in Europe ) and ask for pineapple... eek You'll be chased out the restaurant ... laugh

It was good while it lasted though. Scrappy will be happy since I will not go into a Dole Whip coma every night our next stay at the Poly. (Well I still may!) biggrin

I'm not as much disappointed in the loss of self serve as much as I'm disappointed to lose them 23 hours a day. I mean seriously - those 2am dole whip cravings will no longer be able to be satisfied.

I'll never forget the time I saw a guy self serve himself a dole whip..... It must have been 5 times taller than the cup, he kept having to wobble it to stop it from falling over.... Damn, can never try to recreate it lol

A+++++++++++ Psych reference. laugh

The new Captain Cook's menu doesn't interest me in the slightest, but I AM interested in the Pineapple Lanai even if it's not self-serve or 24 hours. Though those are two huge blows. Sad
