Hi there, My husband and I are going Oct 2-8th for our 2nd wedding anniversary. I have been reading this board and its been super helpful in planning and information. Neither one of us have ever been to any of the florida parks. I practically grew up at Universal in hollywood and Dland. We are planning on doing all four disney parks and the two Universal parks. We are staying off site in Kissimmee due to cost. I am so excited thats all I can think about lately. I am sure I am driving my husband nuts.

Yeah, Busy but I practically grew up at disney and my husband has been tons of time. I got at least once a year. We are hoping that we can skip some rides as to make it more doable. We are trying for a baby so this may be our only trip/vacay for quite a while.

I'm assuming you grew up at Disneyland since it's your first trip to Orlando? I love Disneyland, it's probably my favorite park, the nostalgia, the intimacy, all the little nooks and cranies to explore. New Orleans Square is my favorite land, and Indiana Jones I think is the best ride ever, Pirates in Disneyland has it all over the one at WDW. I "grew up" at WDW and spent another 10 years as a young adult at DLR when I lived out there, so I can really appreciate, and I do LOVE both places. muchlove

If I may offer one piece of unsolicited advice? Take it all on as an entirely different place. Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom are only "the same" in a nebulous kind of loose interpretation. Don't compare them, and you'll find a special sort of magic that you didn't even think was possible. Walt Disney World is GIGANTIC in the sort of way that no SoCal attraction touches. You are going to have THE most amazing time, it's just gonna blow your mind. awesome

Yes I meant Dland, sorry should have clarified that. We almost decided to cut magic kingdom out as I heard it is exactly like Dland, but we decided to go ahead and visit every park at least once and then if we return we can omit as we need. I am so excited. I can't even concentrate at work and we still have 34 days.

LoL! Don't listen to whoever told you that! So, I grew up at WDW, but then after 10 years of DL, when I went back to the Magic Kingdom I was LOST! The pathways aren't the same, the basic structure is similar, but there are little turns and places that you'll think you can short cut that aren't there. You really feel that in Frontierland and Liberty square, te structure is completely different. The scale in WDW is so huge, and the small details are different. I know that a lot of people compare the two or like more one than the other. However if you don't, you will get so much more out of it. I can't wait to hear what you think about it!

Are you a big Food & Wine person, because Epcot will be hoping with the Festival going on. My husband and I will be down there Sept 28-Oct 3rd for opening weekend festivities.

My hubby is a big wine and food person, I got on the ADR a little late and we just reserved our epcot biergarten and character breakfast this past weekend. I saw the festival is the same time we are there. Do you have to buy an additional ticket or how does it work?

malwillms, No further ticket is needed for F&W fest. an admission ticket to Epcot is all you need. F&W has many booths put up around the lake around all the pavillions and feature small plates of special foods and glasses of wine from many countries. All of these are available for a fee of course but you will be very hard pressed to see and taste all you want on your tight schedule. I am sure other will relate as to how good all the foods and wines are.

I'm really looking forward to animal kingdom, we have a park up here called safari west which is a three hour safari and you get up close with animals bit there were a lot of animals not there. I think mu hubby is really looking forward to epcot as spending a lot of time in France (his gparents lived there), growing up and coming from a German heritage it will be a great experience till we can afford to go to Europe, in a few yrs. But really I'm looking forward to every single park and the whole atmosphere. Doug a character breakfast that I haven't done sine I was little and my hubby never did. Finding and takin pics with all the characters an experiencing it for the both of us together for the first time.

Nope, you just need your ticket to get into Epcot. There will be all sorts of festival booths sprinkled around World Showcase where you can get tapas sized portions of dishes from all over the world. Do your read the Disney Food Blog? They have really complete coverage of everything that will be going on at Epcot's Food & Wine Festival http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2011-epcot-food-and-wine-festival/
