New Star Tours Info

I guess the powers that be finally released some new information about the updates that Star Tours will be getting this fall...

⢠The ride will feature multiple destinations, including a pod race and a
trip to Coruscant. The above photo is of a StarSpeeder zipping through
Coruscant

⢠The time period of the ride will be between the two sets of trilogies.
(Anakin Skywalker had just become Darth Vader at the end of episode
three).

I'm not a huge Star Wars fan so I don't really know what any of those things mean..but I am glad to see an update to this ride! It's be so dated for so long. I thought the updates would have been done years ago when the new movies came out..but at least they are doing something now. I imagine the lines will be out of the building come SSW 2011!

Good idea for them to make it have multiple options. Increase the re-ridability. It's a simulator, you might as well take advantages of it.

Not too happy about them using anything with the prequels at all though (pod races?) - they just suck compared to the originals!!

They could easily do an update that sticks with the original trilogy.

I'm really excited about this one. I still enjoy Star Tours, even though it's dated and I've been on it dozens of times.

I didn't even think about this. Now you have me dreading it! Unless I get to run over Jar-Jar Binks or something.

I have to agree . . the pre-quels just weren't very good. I personally enjoy star tours. I don't think it NEEDS an update, but if done right, which disney usually does, it could be pretty awesome.

I wonder with this being able to pick a scenario if the ride vehicles will be different. What if everyone wants to ride a different scenario?? Or will you go to a certain simulator for a certain scenario . . . I would be kind of irked if I stood inline for 45 minutes and didn't get to ride the scenario I wanted because majority of people in my vehicle wanted a different scenario.

That's a good question. Maybe it will be like a choose your own adventure where everyone votes. Unfortunately that will lead to the tyranny of the people who haven't done it before and you'll never get to see the alternatives. I'm guessing it will probably just be random.

If there are different versions of the ride, I would guess random also. Do we have confirmation there will be wholly different versions though? What I read just said that they were able to discern there will be several 'destinations'. Sounds to me like there's only one version (though I would prefer multiple versions). The original touted visits to Hoth, Tatooine, and Dagobah as well.

That sounds more likely and less impressive.
