New Star Trek Movie

Went to see this today and absolutely loved it. Watching it brought a lump to my throat as I realised how much I have missed Star Trek.

I am looking forward to seeing what JJ will do with Star Wars. I have fond memories of going to the pictures with my Dad to see the originals (which I still think are the best 3) when I was a teenager.

Is anyone else planning to see Star Trek?

You have to see it if you are a Trekkie, it is just totally wonderful! I am not going to say anything about the plot just that it ties in so well and that the people playing the younger characters (there is a couple I am thinking of) are remarkable in their portrayal. Is Scrappy a Trekkie to? I am lucky that DH loves Star Trek and Star Wars awesome we are also Dr Who fans! I haven't enjoyed a movie so much in ages.

Isn't it out in the US yet? I think I went on the second day. We did the 2D version not 3D but I think I would go back for that. They also were advertising Wolverine muchlove which looks pretty special too.

It opens in the U.S. later this week. And I am absolutely going to see it. I've been a Trekkie since I watched the original series back when it was new.

laugh Being a Kirk means you get a *lot* of Star Trek jokes tossed your way. The general retort when people ask me if I'm related to James T. is "Why yes! He's my descendant!" laugh Confuses the heck out of people.
