We haven't given it much thought, sadly. In years past, we've talked of doing something fun, but then we always say it's too expensive, or too dangerous to be out driving, etc, etc. We'll probably watch the ball drop...if we don't fall asleep first! silly

We're boring and home-bodies. We usually just stay in, and most of the time are in bed and asleep before midnight. Last night was the first night since the surgery that I was awake past 10:00 pm, so I don't expect I'll make it to midnight this year either.

Haha! I am glad I'm not the only homebody! We just love being at home..but I think we are at least going to go out to dinner this year...I'm sure we'll be home long before the ball drops!

As Katrina said, we are having people over to celebrate the new year and jason's birthday (it was yesterday). Should be fun! It will be low-key - lasagna, ice cream cake and board games

Have you tried Fogo de Chao? We've been to the one in Atlanta, but we've never been to Texas de Brazil, even though we have one. I hear good things.

Bella - a veritable meat fest! It's a Brazilian steakhouse, and I believe, like Fogo de Chao, it features gauchos, roaming the dining room with giant sticks of meat. Delish Smile

Wow!! I've never even heard of that! This sounds like dave's dream restaurant. He thought Ohana was amazing.

There's actually a Texas de Brazil here in Orlando, on I-Drive. Even locals love it, so I think it's pretty good. We've never been, but if you decide to try it out on your trip, let us know what you think!

Hi,

Happy New Year Everyone!

I went to church, to a New Year's Eve gathering of people from a ministry by my friend Matt for people recovering from drug addiction called "Set Free". In the church youth room. we played board games (I played on a two-person team on Buzzwords and we cleaned up), Wii, and billiards. I came a little after 11:00 pm after watching MLB Network. After the ball dropped, we worshiped the Lord with songs and prayer. Matt then gave me a ride home.

I went a couple years ago to Fogo de Chao, the churrascuria on 1337 Chestnut Street in downtown Philadelphia. Featuring "rodizio" (rotation) dining, the restaurant keeps the meats coming, as long as you have the little cardboard disc with the "go" side up. Dinner is $US49.95 a person, all you care to eat. Chima Brazilian Steakhouse, at 1901 JFK Blvd in downtown Philly, is similar but $10.00 cheaper.

While I have done the bedazzling New Year's Eve before, I like staying home or going to a small gathering with friends more! Last night I was home relaxing. Watched the ball drop and wondered why they always choose such bad performers to follow the "big drop." laugh

AND caipirinhas. (I'm sure I spelled that wrong. I'll let you google it to fix it.)

Jim - that's terrific! Way better than us - we fell asleep. Sadly. It's become the tradition to fall asleep just before midnite and to wake up just after. sarcastic

Bali - I agree. You know...I'm just not into celebrating much of anything with 1000s of people I don't know...well...unless I ever make it to WDW for NYE biggrin

Bella - what did you end up doing, btw?
