Newbie Question

It's been a while since I've been to the World (almost 10 years to be exact!) and I've forgotten a lot.

My primary question is about park tickets and the key to the world. We are doing a package - are my park tickets on the key or are they separate?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Now, everything is on your card. Your room key, your tickets, your meal plans, you can link your credit card to it...it really becomes the only thing you actually need to do ANYTHING in the World.

That's one of my favorite things about visiting WDW. That and having packages delivered to my room when I'm shopping. laugh

Thank you for the replies. Smile

So, how does it work with split stays? Allow me to explain...

We arrive to WDW on a Wed and will check into the Grand Floridian for two nights. We are getting a dining plan and we are purchasing park tickets for 9 days.

On Friday, we check out of the GF and check into the Contemporary. We are only purchasing one park ticket so we can get the package.

On Tuesday, we check out of the Contemporary and check into the AKL Villas. Again, we are only purchasing one park ticket.

It would be A LOT easier if we purchased our park tickets to correspond with our hotel stays, but it's also a lot more expensive to do it that way.

So, we'll have a key to the world for the GF for our remaining park tickets even though we've checked out of the hotel? Is that how it works?

We had considered splitting hotels last time we went but decided we didn't want the hassle -- not sure what the answer is...

We have only changed rooms one time. We did get new room keys when we checked into the new resort.
I am almost positive that the meals and park tickets were still on the old room key though. However, we added the day at the end of our stay, so I am not sure if that would be the case if we had planned to change rooms from the start.

I LOVE split stays. It's so much fun to stay in several different places while you're at WDW.

Regarding the park tickets, that sounds like the kind of question that will garner different answer no matter who you talk to on Disney's end. I would call the Disney ticket line and ask about it, and if you don't get a satisfactory answer, I'd ask to speak to a manager.

That said, this might be something that you need to handle with guest services once you get there. Most likely the park tickets will stay on your GF key card for the rest of your stay, but I'm just not positive on that one. We've had annual passes for our split stays, so our tickets have always been separate.

Wish I could help more!

I'm betting SOMEONE can do it. You just have to find the right person.

I agree with Bali..I think that's going to depend on who you get and who you talk to.

We did a 4 day stay at OKW a few years ago and had a 5 day park ticket. On the last night we moved to POR and our tickets stayed on our OKW keys. Since it was just one day we didn't care nor did we bother to ask if they could fix it. My suggestion is go to the Lobby Concierge after you check in to each resort and ask if they can switch them to your existing KTW.

The KTW is one of the great things Disney really does right. I love just grabbing our KTW and my ID and heading out of the door. I don't have to worry about misplacing my credit cards or anything like that..they just stay tucked away in the safe the entire trip.

It never even occurred to me to have them move the park tickets to our KTW. Worst case scenario, we have two Keys throughout the trip but it doesn't hurt to ask once we're there.

Thanks!

Yeah, that's the tack I would take, too, Bella!

We've done plenty of split stays, but they've also been on APs, so didn't encounter this issue.

Good to know!!
