No Love For Wilderness Lodge?

I've noticed lately that I seem to be in the minority lately on here in that the Wilderness Lodge is one of my favorite resorts. It's reasonably priced for a deluxe and as far as the theme goes the two lodges are probably my favorite. So...what do you guys have against the WL? Smile

Well you are not talking to Bella. I have always loved the lodges simply because of the lobbies..they are amazing! I also like how they are pretty reasonable for a deluxe resort. I prefer Animal Kingdom over WL just because of the animals..but nothing can beat that boat ride over to MK!

I ADORE WL. I haven't had the pleasure of staying there, but it's always been one of my very favorite spots to visit, and sooner or later, we'll stay there - just haven't had the chance yet (we tend toward the moderates. Last year, we stayed at GF, but only because it was a bday present/"dream come true" for my mom.)

I think when we discuss various resorts here, I'm always all about the convenience factor. I just don't love those darn buses. But I do realize WL has a boat, which is really cool.

Hi,

Stayed at Wilderness Lodge from November 30-December 8, 2005. It is where I got the surprise upgrade from a standard room to a handicapped-accessible (I have cerebral palsy), courtyard-view room near the pool; where Jackie at the front desk greeted me with "Welcome Home!" (even though I do not have DVC) and asked, "King bed?"; a picture of the front (or back? view from the pool facing the resort) of the resort is my desktop wallpaper; and it is the trip in which I learned about female ice cream sundaes. It has a 65-foot stone fireplace in the lobby, Wilderness Canyon Cafe and Artist Point; a launch directly to the Magic Kingdom; and, even though I am a native Jersey boy and have visited but never lived in the northwestern United States, it feels like home.

I.....LOVE.....THIS.....RESORT!

Thanks for letting me rave onandonandon.....

Jim

I love WL, but I have to say the bus service was always so slow for us.

We love WL, but maybe it's because we always drive!

Cdub, the very reason you love Wilderness Lodge is the very reason I do not care for it. I will admit it is very well themed. That is the problem for me. I do not care for the theme. I can not say that I hate it though but there are other resorts I like much better.
