No, *you* take the Gorilla's Blood Pressure...

This New York Times story just has fabulous written all over it, and proves yet again that Disney leading the way in endangered animal care and conservation. Not only has the staff at Disney's Animal Kingdom pioneered the training it's Gorillas to stand still and present their appropriate body parts for routine cardiac testing, but they designed and created a special blood pressure cuff to use in a Gorilla Health project that is being implemented at zoos across the country.

conservation station is my favorite! We've seen the vets do physicals on elephants, saw them give the gorillas human birth control pills, and watched them perform surgery on a bird. So cool, and such a huge behind the scenes operation, it's fascinating to me!

You would think that with being owned by Disney they would get all the scoops when it comes to things like this. Silly me thinking again.
