Noob here

Howdy! I just wanted to say hello.

I'm in central Texas, and never been to any Disney location other than a Disney store, so I'm still getting my poor brain wrapped around doing something that costs this much eek for a vacation. I'm hoping to get my brain adjusted in the next couple of years, though, because WDW has finally started to look like fun. Mrs. Tex and I will get there, eventually, and I suspect our first time won't be our last.

DTex,

I was just like you...had to brought around at first, but once I made the trip I found out how well spent the money was that I only plan small trips anywhere else now....it IS a little tough the first time, but if you have an appreciation for quality and detail the fun will be the payoff!...Planning/info is important but that is what all of the fine folks here are for!.. We all LOVE Disney and the planning that goes with it from what I can tell in my short time on WDWFGU...and I love this forum..

Hope you do to!... Welcome. clapping

Oh - welcome! We are sooo glad to have you. Look around - there's a TON of information, and please, feel free to ask questions. Hopefully we'll know the answer - or we'll SURELY get it for you!

Since you're smack dab in the middle of the country, you could go to either Disneyland or Walt Disney World I'm thinking. But you think you'll do WDW? What's the big attraction that has finally drawn you and Mrs. Tex in?

Love Texas, btw Smile

Robert, we're glad to have you here as well! Wow - 21 trips to FL! Do you always visit Disney, or do you visit all over the state? So many great things to do in FL!

@Bella: Nothing planned right now. We've got the next two years booked out with other stuff, so I don't see it before 2013/2014 depending on whether I can convince Mrs. Tex about taking a cruise.

Responding to Lizzy_B, it's WDW because DLR lost its appeal back when I was about 8 years old and figured out that I was never going to get there. I had the choice of either chewing my arm off with envy every time somebody came back from summer or Christmas vacation with stories about their visit to DLR, or deciding that I really wasn't interested. I suppose it's my loss that I was so successful in "not wanting" to go, but it's lasted a half century so far and I don't see it changing. I have a 100% (and admittedly irrational) DIS-interest in DLR, and I've even managed to keep Mrs Tex from regaling me with stories about her one trip years ago. WDW doesn't have any of those associations, and anyhow, there are more parks in Orlando. I guess the main thing is that we're not getting any younger. It's getting on time to go back and pick up some of those things that didn't happen when we were kids.

Thanks, all!

I don't really have negative feelings, so much as a total lack of positive feelings for DLR. And heck, if I had been that close, I could probably have wheedled my folks into taking me at least once. I'm still hoping to try WDW in a couple of years, though, after we work through our currently programmed summers.
