Still no word. I don't expect one at this point. The thing that bugs me is that it was working for me when I went to New Orleans in December! I haven't used my cell phone to tweet in months, so I don't know when it stopped working, and I can't figure out why it would.

That's awful. I was so looking forward to your updates (especially on the restaurants and your parasailing!). Maybe it will somehow miraculously work when you get there. crossfingers

Ahem...

If you folks remember, I had volunteered to go along with Solo to help her with her trip, and was rudely rejected! laugh

IF I were along right now, it would be very simple for her to instruct me what she wanted posted and I would most gladly run back to a desktop and post it for her.

So folks, in the future if I...er... SOMEONE volunteers to accompany you to Disney World to "help you out", please consider it strongly.

(Who's going next?!?)

MT may not be as compact as a cell phone, but he has more capabilities. (Presumably)

I'm baa-aack. It was a great vacation! Hotter than Hades, but super fun and relaxing. I loved Coronado Springs--what a beautiful resort. I got one of the renovated rooms, so that helped. I took about 1000 photos, spent a small fortune on food, saw the new
Star Trek movie, visited every park at least twice (except DHS, which
was just once), went to Downtown Disney a couple of times and the Boardwalk a couple of times (including a meet at Jellyrolls), got sunburned, lost at least a gallon of water in sweat, and ate way too much, but luckily, walked it off in the parks. LOL.

My body held up really well until the day after I went horseback riding. I woke up so lame. And umm...note to self: Don't go horseback riding wearing white capris ever again. laugh I will also never go to Fort Wilderness again--for one thing, it is too big and spread out. For another, they had a triathlon going on the day I went horseback riding. 80% of the walkways were blocked off, and there were at least an extra thousand people milling about the property, waiting for buses, etc. so it was really difficult getting to the kennel from the marina. Ugh.

Sadly, I couldn't go parasailing. On the morning I was supposed to go, I got a call from Sammy Duvall's telling me the boat was being serviced and wasn't going to be available. They offered to reschedule later in the week, but of course, I was coming home yesterday, so I couldn't. I might be paranoid, but I suspect I may have been their only booking that day, and so they purposely chose that day to have the boat serviced.

The Ridemax plans gave me mixed results. Overall, I'd have to say I'm not the ideal Ridemax customer. I can get around the parks quicker than their fastest option ("normal" speed) and use the single rider line (which they don't take into consideration except for Test Track). So pretty much every day, I started off using the plan, and then I'd get so far ahead of schedule, I just did whatever seemed to make the most sense next. I definitely wanted to get out of the parks by early afternoon. It was just too hot. The parks and restaurants were mobbed, for the most part, until Monday, but I never had to wait more than 15 minutes to ride anything (and I think the longest wait was Spaceship Earth). The only rides I had to get FastPasses for were Tower of Terror, Jungle Cruise and Soarin. Everything else was quick.

If anyone has any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

yeah

YAY! SF's back!!

Thanks for the info! I can't wait to hear/read more in your blog.

White capris are never an option in WDW for me--horse or no horse! laugh

Sorry about the parasailing sad I don't imagine they have a lineup of folks on any given day, so maybe their boat just broke and that was that. Bummer, though. Did they give you a ticket for a free parasail?!?

I'm glad you liked CSR. Would love to see pics of the renovated rooms!

They didn't compensate you in any way for canceling on you? That's pretty poor service.

No, I received no compensation for the cancellation but I hadn't paid them anything yet either. They did offer to reschedule for later in the week, but of course I was checking out the next day.

I did enjoy the horseback riding, though it was very very dusty.

It's still not very magical to just screw with your plans like that. It could have been your whole reason for going, or staying at a particular place or whatever.

Well, I don't really consider Sammy Duvall's to be WDW anyway. They operate on Disney property, but I think they're an independent operation. None of my phone interactions led me to believe they've had training the way other Disney castmembers have, let's just say.

It's not that big a deal. I'll take other vacations to places where I can go parasailing. It'll happen for me eventually. I figure I can't actually die until I get everything done on my bucket list, so it's probably good that there are still a lot of things on it! laugh

If that's how bucket lists work I'm going to add some more to mine!
