Oh man...room for one more trip?

I think I've posted before about taking student groups through my school. Well, I'm not in the role I was when I would do that, so I figured that was out, unless a group needed an administrator along. My old student council kids have already approached me about taking them this year since their new sponsor is pg and won't be able to take the trip, but she is hesitant to let me do that - which I totally understand. I'm just sad for the seniors - "We didn't go as sophomores because we thought we'd be going our senior year!" Sad

Buuuut....today I was chatting with the other dean about student travel and how fun it would be to do a trip, and how too bad the student council trip is out...yada yada....which led to a chat about "hey, we should find a new group to travel with", which led to a talk with our Diversity Leadership class teacher and I *think* we're going to try to plan a trip in April for those kids! clapping These are kids who most likely would *never* get to go to WDW otherwise.

The best part is that now we're thinking about making it a XYZ High School Leadership trip and including our Ambassadors AND student council! So those seniors will still get to go!

Anyway, I don't know if it will actually happen, but I'm super excited to try to make it work and start planning!!! mickey crossfingers crossfingers crossfingers crossfingers crossfingers crossfingers

Wow. That is great. I already pulled that card at school and got the..."It's too expensive" and "Too much liability" speech....sigh. I am currently brainstorming other ways to bring this up again. crossfingers

Don't get discouraged! The high school I went to, took a trip to Disney every 4 years to take part in Magic Music days. We got to march down through Frontierland to Liberty square to Main Street. The choir got to perform at Epcot. Do you have any talented students? Disney also has the Youth Education Series. I found the website: http://www.disneyyouth.com/our-programs/education/sp/youth-education-series/?CMP=VAN-DisneyYES#categories-youth-education-series,locations-WDW

Good luck Eeyore! I hope these suggestions help!

We always do the YES programs. They're great. In fact, on our family trip last January, we did individual program for our own kids. And our students have never paid more than $900 for five days, including airfare. Not expensive and don't let them scare you with the liability stuff... It's because they don't want to deal with paperwork.

Is that program offered directly through Disney?

Mandy - I do not teach music or anything so taking a choir would be out of the question. I am sure the music teacher would think I am up to something taking her kids! haha However, we are talking about 6th graders. Are 6th graders old enough to wander through the parks of Disney and not get in mischief??? lol

Yes! It's awesome. Here's the link. http://www.disneyyouth.com/our-programs/education/sp/youth-education-series/#categories-youth-education-series

If it's something you want to know more about, I'm happy to help...I've taken five trips through them. Smile

Okay. I'm just trying to help your cause to bring the kids to Disney. The program is offered directly through Disney.
