I was so impressed with Disney's Boardwalk Villas 1-bedroom Boardwalk view room last year in Mid- December, that I decided to try to book a Boardwalk view, 1-bedroom for the week of Thanksgiving this year. I contacted my DVC contact at the 11-month mark and ask if they could book the week of Thanksgiving for us, in the same type room with same view. With the limited number of rooms with a boardwalk view, it was a long shot...... Well, when the 11 month mark hit, she was able to get the first 5 nights in a boardwalk view, but only garden pool for Thanksgiving Day through Saturday... So even though I was happy about getting 5 nights in a boardwalk view room, the thought of having to change rooms on Thanksgiving Day was a bummer, but was definitely willing to do what we had to to make this trip work.
So last night I get the "We can't wait to welcome you home at WALT DISNEY WORLD Resort!" e-mail. I thought to myself, WAIT!!!! my June, Sept. and Nov. Disney trips are already booked and good to go.. So to my surprise, I open the e-mail and see that our November trip is now showing a Boardwalk View from 17-24 November 2018, which means that the waitlist that the DVC member placed on the extra two nights went through yesterday and were confirmed!!! I'm so stoked about this... 
It will definitely be a memorable Thanksgiving in 2018... Can't wait!!! 
Here's a few shots from our balcony.. The street performers were right below us too, so it was neat watching the shows from above. The Yo-Yo guy would toss the yo-yo high enough where we could literally reach our hands out over the railing and grab the yo-yo on it's descent. BTW, we could watch three firework shows from our balcony too..... Magic Kingdom (Straight ahead), Hollywood Studios (eyes left), and EPCOT (eyes right)... It was AWESOME!!!
