Oops!

I just realised I never did one of these! I liked looking at other people's introductions; it's nice to know a little about who you are talking to!

I'm 24 and live in England. I love to travel (not just Disney, sorry guys!) but obviously am a big fan of Disney or I wouldn't be here! I went a couple of times as a child and then did the International College Programme about 3 years ago where I worked in various locations on Main Street in MK, wearing the most unflattering costumes in the world biggrin This will be my first time going back since working there, and this time I'll be going with my boyfriend and staying at the Pop Century for 2 weeks in September 2011 (after visiting NYC and Washington DC for the first time!!)
I've also been to Disneyland Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong. All great, but Florida is the best! Still got California left to go...

SO HI EVERYONE!

Nice to "meet" you! laugh

I'd love to hear about DLP, do you have pictures?

Where else do you like to travel? All British folks go to Greece, right? And Mallorca? It's the law, right? laugh

Welcome! It's been fun reading your posts and hearing about your trip preparations mickey You've got so much Disney experience. I'm looking forward to hearing more about the international parks.

I do indeed have DLP pics! I'll attach a few.

I can't say I've been to Greece, although I have been to Majorca! My favourite places are probably either Japan, Thailand or Vietnam (I recently spent 6 months travelling through East Asia and had such a good time!) and in my favourite place in Europe is Barcelona. I love the Gaudi architecture there! I'm not really a sitting-on-the-beach type (although I do enjoy a bit of beach, I just get bored after a day or 2 of it). I prefer to explore until I cannot walk/run/climb anymore!

By the way, Disneyland Tokyo is MENTAL, particularly Splash Mountain. I love it!!!

Those pictures are fantastic. I've always thought DLP looked like the most beautiful of the parks. As someone who's been to both DLP and WDW is my impression right?

Erm. Fantasyland is, yeah. They have a big Alice in Wonderland maze which is pretty cool (you can see it the picture of the cheshire cat). And the paris version of the castle is cute. But overall the park wasn't as good as the Orlando Magic Kingdom. Less attractions, plus the castmembers weren't as...Disney...as they are in Orlando, if you get me! The smallest/least favourite Disney park I've been to was Hong Kong. It was tiny! And the castle was so small! They put on some good stuff for Halloween though!

That is really awesome - thanks for sharing about the other parks. And it's nice to "meet" you! I've always been interested in going to others, esp DLP...although I hate to take time away from Paris to do it. What is the last pic of - where folks look like they're sitting in big buckets attached to a water wheel? (Forgive me if I'm not making sense...no coffee yet Smile

Oh, man! So cool! I can't wait to hear more of your stories from the parks. Also, 6 months through East Asia -- amazing. That must have been quite an experience!

When do you think you'll make it over to Disneyland?

The pics are great; I couldn't tell if that waterwheel one was a model (a la storybook land in DLR) or an actual attraction until I saw the little people!

I didn't think the bucket thing actually was an attraction, just a model!? Are people sitting on it?! I went there and I can't even tell! laugh Yeah, Paris is great so I can understand you not wanting to take a day away, but we were in Paris 6 days which was long enough to give one day to Disneyland Smile

I'd like to go to DLC but I've never been to California at all! If I did go to LA then I'm sure I would visit it, but to be honest if I go west USA I don't think I'd go to LA. I'd rather go to San Fransisco. One day hopefully!

Right, I've attached 3 pics from Disneyland HK. I can't find my Disneyland Tokyo pics at the moment, which is a shame because it would be good to have shown you how different the Main Street area is!! It's all under a cover for a start!

Cool!! Can you actually get into the castle in HK? The fence looks forbidding laugh

The mountains behind the castle are incredible, though. Those "natural backdrops" are amazing in the international parks.

Is the surfing whale thing part of an attraction?

This is a really stupid question..but are there lot of non-Asian folk working at the Asia Disney's? I would think that would be a great place for an American who wants to live in Asia to work.

Um, if I remember rightly they were mostly Asian. I didn't pay too much attention to that though so didn't really take it in.

The surfing whale wasn't an attrraction. It actually wasn't even through the gates, it was outside on your walk from the monorail to the park!

So now you just have to get to Disneyland to complete the set?

I really do! The reason we actually went to the Hong Kong one was because it was all my boyfriend needed the complete his set, otherwise we probably wouldn't have bothered!
