Eating breakfast infront of the Castle! Nothing wrong with that.

Yea! It is very important to have at least one trip booked before leaving WDW. Or at least planned!

I want to try for BLT too later this year.

Safe travels. Look forward to your report, and thank you again for hallow wishes. mickey

Your trip sounded great! So excited to read the comprehensive version! And I'm pretty sure we saw you guys at the Dessert Party, but we weren't 100% sure, so we were nervous to approach and have them be people that had no idea what we were talking about lol.

I was looking for you two but never noticed you. Before the curtain went up we were in the middle right near the front.

Sorry I haven't started the trip report yet , but its been crazy since we got back. I've been on a 10am - 6pm shift, so that pretty much blows the day, not much time after eating dinner and stuff. Trying to upload all pictures, get through 6 pages of the forum we missed while we were away. Getting rid of spammer, got 2 grandkids b-days this weekend, one each day, so we are still pretty busy. Will get to it soon!

MrHub, Thanks so much for taking us on your trip!! clapping clapping

Any updates on Poly Construction? My Parents are going to the Poly next Tuesday, and my Brother, SIL, niece, nephew, and Bro's MIL are going, staying at Pop Century. Plan is for SIL to take kids to Poly for naptime (6 & 2) and pool time. Are there access issues? All have Magic Bands.

Thanks!

Access issues, none that we were aware of. They are checking your bands when you enter at the guard shack. The construction is going along fast on subset point. They took all the palm trees down and have a dock out in the water. Watch the Tikiman's FB page. Guest are sending day by day construction photos. Tahiti and Rapa Nui were still open when we left.

There is a big piled of dirt on one of the beaches, I'm guessing sunset point. They have started construction on the one parking lot by the one long house that's nearest the Transportation and Ticket Center.

Mandy thats the set up site for the contractors in that parking lot. That's Rapa Nui's parking lot. You can still walk to the T & TC but they will be closing that off soon I think.

It's very sad to see that whole area turn up, but I'm sure Disney will make it better then ever once done.

Oh, before I forget, I wanted to just say "Hi" to that "crazy lady from Jersey " as she called herself. We met outside of the Crystal Palace! biggrin awesome

For everyone else here, we were leaving the Crystal Palace one day after breakfast and happened to run into a couple out side. I had on my WDWForGrownups shirt and she looks at my shirt and said " I read that forum all the time!" . I introduced ourselves as Mrhub & Scrappy and she knew us well, but she said she had never posted. Their named got called before I could get her name so I would just like to say hello and make a post!

So, our trip drive down to Florida was rather uneventful, just the way we like it. We got on the road Friday about 9am and stopped in SC at Hampton Inn Manning and spent the night. Ran into the once a trip guy asking for money for gas, they had car trouble and need to get to see his sick grandma down south in Georgia! Get lost sucker!

Up early and on the road Sat morning and noonish

we were passing under the Arches!

15 minutes later we were pulling into the Grand Floridian!

Valet took care of the car and luggage and we were met by a CM named Elizabeth who called greeted us by name and welcomed us. She showed us to the Online checking desk, pretty much the same counter for everyone and we were checked in promptly and got our Magicbands all squared away. We were then escorted out the rear of the Main building to the courtyard by the pool close to the new DVC Villas to await our bellman who was getting a cart, and our luggage and would show us to our building and room.

We had booked a MK view room just so we could see what the view was like since we had changed from the Poly to the GF in January. The room was on the second floor, i would have preferred up higher, but it was okay.

The room was really nice and had a nice view.

Not much on the towel figures,

VelcroPooh

Ooh love the room!

Like I said, the room was nice and the view was okay. We didn't really unpack since we were only staying one night.
I set up the web cams and off we went to explore the Grand Floridian.

Had to check the cupcakes!

Checked the gift shop and the Magicband accessories,

After strolling around the grounds it was time to get ready for dinner.

We went back to our room and got cleaned up and headed to Citricos for our ADR.

Citricos is a very nice restaurant and much less formal than we thought. We seemed a little over dressed.

This was a Duck app dish sent out to us by the Chef.

Next I had the Cheese Course Trio, Ummmmmmm!

Scrappy had the Crispy fried yellow Tomatoes and Buffalo Mozzarella cheese.

Main Course: Pan Seared Florida Black Grouper

Scrappy had pan-roasted Ashley Farms Chicken breast.
