That path to nowhere...

I often wonder about that path that leads from the boat launch area at MK towards the GF. It's fully maintained and fully lit with many post lights. I just wonder why they built it and what purpose it serves. I can't help but think it was supposed to connect to the GF and allow walking traffic between the two.

I often get a kick out of watching people with strollers, bags and balloons walk along it just to find out it's a dead end. Evil

Lol I didn't even realize that there was a path there. I wish they'd built a bridge and continue the path. GF is supposed to be the flagship resort, but Contemporary/BLT and Poly kill GF in transportation logistics.

They were doing work near there in Sept with some extremely large pipe. Il like to see what came of that when we are there in a few weeks.

Many a time people have insisted to us that there is a walk way all the way to the GF that way. When we tell them that there has never been a walkway they look as us like we have 3 heads. We just laugh and say " see for yourself, have a good walk!"

Is that where the floats come out for the Electric Water Parade?

The very top of the first pic does look like it could be the floats in the water up against the shore on the right side...

Yes, this is the canal entrance where the water pageant floats are stored.

Way back when Disney created the memory bricks, the walkway was supposed to surround the Seven Seas Lagoon, and there were plans for people to be able to walk all the way around. The project was intended to be self sustaining in that the more memory bricks they sold, the longer the walkway would get, and it would all pay for itself through the cost of the bricks that the guests would buy. Sadly, it didn't quite work that way, and the walkway was never completed.

This does seem like an odd little stretch of path, but the beach down there at the end of it seems to me like it would be a nice spot for photos.

It's funny looking back at this now. The path now finally goes somewhere and it's really nice to be able to walk from MK all the way to TTC if one so desires.
