I just read that the WDW version of POTC is an abbreviated one from DL. Has anyone been on both? Did you notice a major difference? Just curious as to the differences of both. POTC is my fave ride of all time!

I have only been to the one at WDW... but the one over at DL has a couple more drops in the beginning and is longer. I think the majority of it is the same... just has a couple more drops in the beginning, and is longer. Wicked can tell ya.

I've been on both, and I think that the Disneyland version is much better. Mase is right in that most of the difference is at the start. The DL version takes you through the nighttime bayou, has more drops, and winds through extended caverns. I seem to recall that the end scene is set up a little differently as well.
I've been to both and most recently to the one at Disneyland this past July and I have to admit that I'm definately a fan of DisneyWorld much more but the POTC ride at Disneyland is much better. A better drop that you can actually feel in your belly, a ride through the blue byou restaurant, which is a nice touch and a bit longer with some added touches.

Actually... I have never been to WDW (yet) so I can't really say. Pretty much everyone I have talked to says the POTC at Disneyland is way better though.

I guess I never knew that... even though it says in your profile that your first trip is coming up... lol

Oh, interesting! I LOVE the WDW one, so would love to ride the Disneyland one!

I'm with you! I hear DL's Space Mountain is better, too, though WDW's Splash Mountain trumps DL's. It's interesting, the differences.
I wish we'd get a Matterhorn at WDW. I was reading the other day that one was actually planned for Epcot at one point, but it never happened.

The hills on that didn't look to bad....It's the hills that i don't like....Can anyone who's ridden it talk about what it's like or what the story is behind it.

I love it! I has the same kind of seats like Space Mountain in WDW so we always sit separate. It can be really jittery and jerky but they have been working on it for awhile so I don't know if it has gotten any better. There are two tracks and they are slightly different from the other. It's fun, I always make sure to ride at least once.

I believe the new Snow White Roller Coaster is being compared to an indoor version of the Matterhorn.
