Planning a trip to WDW, need tips and advice!

After browsing and commenting a few threads, I've decided I really want to plan a trip to WDW sometime in the next few months. As it's been awhile since my last trip, I'd like to get some advice from y'all that seem to go a lot more frequently than I do Laughing out loud

Specifically, I'd really be interested in any restaurant recommendations that serve vegetarian food. It doesn't need to be an all vegetarian restaurant, but if you've tried some veggie fare and can recommend it I'd really love to know.

I'm sure I'll have more questions as I move along, but I don't want to overstay my welcome here on these lovely forums wink So for now one question will suffice.

Thank you in advance for any tips you have! Laughing out loud

Hi Amerise - Disney offers vegetarian choices in just about every restaurant, but I believe there are a few really great ones, according to some of our vegetarian friends here. Have you discovered the Disney Food Blog? It is an excellent resource, and many of us are big fans. You can find information on all kinds of special dietary needs/preferences, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free.

I'll let others chime in about specific restaurant recommendations, but give DFB a look-see when you have the time.

Good luck! We really look forward to hearing all about your plans...and don't worry about overstaying...the more we can all chit chat, the better! Laughing out loud

Allears.net has a LOT on vegetarian restaurants on http://allears.net/din/special

They have pages for counter service, table service and basic tips. Hope it helps!

Those are great resources as well!
I am not a vegetarian but I usually prefer a meat-free meal over a meal with meat..I'm weird. (Basically I don't eat straight up meat but I don't shy away from food made with meat..or bacon). I have found that Boma is a really great place. They have lots of options for non-meat lovers. Pretty much any buffet is a good bet. Pretty much every restaurant has a vegetarian option..some are just better than others.

What are everyone's favorite vegetarian dishes at Boma? I LOVE the tomato hummus! Does hummus qualify as vegan?

yes, as long as there are no meat by products. There shouldn't be...it's usually made w/ chickpeas, garlic, tahini, and olive oil, plus whatever spices/seasonings you like.

Mmm, hummus! I love it.

Thank you everyone for the recommendations! I'll definitely need to explore the blog mentioned. All this talk of food is making me hungry now, though...! silly

You'll find that getting hungry from food posts is common around here, lol.

As a fellow veg, I find the World Showcase in Epcot is great for finding vegetarian food. Personally, I like Restaurant Marrakesh in the Morroco Pavillion (for the Vegetable Couscous) and Chefs de France. Chefs de France made me a custom Ratatouille dish which was amazing! They also have several vegetarian menu items. I found all restaurants were very accommodating. I had several custom meals without prior notice and they were all fantastic.

Be sure to check out Sunshine Seasons in the Land Pavilion for great quick service!

hummuss.....yum! I think they had (this was 5 years ago) a black bean hummus that was really good as well. I remember loving that..at least I think it was black bean. Whatever it was I ate the heck out of it!

Thank you for the recommendations! The vegetable couscous sounds amazing... and I have to admit, my own custom ratatouille dish would be fantastic. I assumed Disney World would be accommodating, but it's always nice to ask ahead for recommendations and tips.

Does anyone make a really good veggie burger, by chance?

Although I've never had one there, I hear all restaurants serve Gardenburger brand veggie burgers.

And be sure to follow caitiesus's advice and go to allears.net! Here's the link I got the veggie burger info from.

http://allears.net/din/vegcsparks.htm

Sorry, you'll have to copy and paste the link, I'm not computer savvy enough to make it a hyperlink!

***EDIT*** OH! Apparently, you don't have to be computer savvy, it creates hyperlinks automatically! Thanks to the admin peeps for making my life easy muchlove
