Plaza Swan Boats - anyone remember these?

Does anyone else remember why they closed the Plaza Swan Boat ride? I remember riding this as a kid.

I don't remember them, but my parents do.

Here is a short article about it.

I can remember them being there, but I only have a very vague memory of riding on them, I must have been very young. They are no longer in Disneyland either.

I was just asking DH if he could remember where 20,000 Leagues was located in relation to the MK today. He just looked at me like I was losing it. Then I remembered he didn't go there as a child.

I think it was over by where the new Little Mermaid ride is now. It was huge tho'. Took up quite a bit of space. That was a great ride, when it actually was working. It broke down a lot.

At Disneyland we have the Finding Nemo submarine tour now and it closed on January 5
and it opens again on September 26. Supposedly they are adding stuff that will be in
Finding Dory, crossfingers I guess I will see then.

Actually it took up pretty much all the area that is now the New Fantasy Land.
