Time marches on. Eventually you realize it's doing it across your face.
Good golly, I think I stayed at that resort in 2005. I'll have to look it up to be sure, but the name and the appearance of the building are definitely familiar. Well...it WAS a very nice resort.
Edited to add - Yup. This is the place we stayed in 2005.
Wow. Crazy!
Crazy and scary.
Crazy! I've got friends in Clermont - better check in with them!
I heard about that on the radio this morning! Those sinkholes are getting out of control down there... And way to close to our precious.

WOW I am so excited about my trip to WDW that I have do the happy dance.
Let the force be with you!
I was envisioning this article to be that Joe made you chocolate covered Disney castles when a guest came over and ate them!
I know there is a sink hole in Epcot that they found while building it. From my understanding, First aid and baby care are over the sink hole on stilts.
your disney has been getting swallowed since 1998
from wikipedia
On January 9, 1999, Horizons closed permanently.
No reason was publicly given, but the lack of corporate sponsorship probably played a large part in the decision. It is also claimed that a reason for the attraction closing was major structural problems (a large marshland sink-hole underneath the structure which emerged in 1998), along with problems with the roof. The building was claimed to have been close to collapsing under its own weight.[4]
How interesting! I didn't know that about Horizons. I loved that attraction and miss it.
Actually the sink hole under Horizons is one of those Internet myths. But as a myth goes, you can believe what you want.
Wow, I just watched a PBS Nova documentary on the topic of sinkholes. Scary stuff indeed. Florida is particularly susceptible to them due to the vast amount of caves under the surface and the type of soil it has. The documentary mentioned the central part of Florida is the most vulnerable part of the state. Although the technology exists to determine the risks, many builders and land owners don't bother testing for them as it could render their land worthless.
