Is this possible.?..

Good Morning Everyone..I don't know if anyone knows the answer to my question, but here goes..For our 2012 vacation we booked it the year before when free dining option became available and stayed at our beloved PORS..However for our 2014 we missed out on free dining as we hadn't booked anything before December 2013...Then came a E-Mail in January 2014 from WDW holidays..Massive room discounts..So we took the advantage of 40% off deluxe and the rest is history..Now to my question..If the free dining comes up for 2016 this year, and we book, let's says PORS, with the usual deposit, then in 2016 Disney stop the free dining offer but instead offer room discounts..Would we be able to switch from PORS to let's say WL and take the advantage of the discount offer, but in doing so, lose the free dining offer..Reason i ask is just in case the free dining offer comes up and we book PORS..We could never afford two weeks in a deluxe unless room discounts were available ..But if we had the chance of room discount ( depending what offer was on the table ) over free dining at a moderate resort, we would opt for the deluxe....So I was wondering if Disney would let you swop ( if available ) from a moderate ( losing the free dining offer ) to staying at a deluxe ( with room discounts )

Yes Watchmaker, you would just be canceling one reservation and making another.

Cheers MrHub...Would you loose your deposit.?..I wouldn't think so but just wondered..At this moment Virgin have 2016 package holidays available including October but no offers as yet..I've read that free dining offers for UK residents usually come on at the end of April..

My advice would be to talk to virgin about this.We book early and before any DDP or room discounts and have never had them added when they come out.

As far as I understand watchmaker if you book a package with Virgin you can't change a thing unless you cancel and rebook which I believe is quite expensive (don't quote me on this!)

If you book seperatley and book hotel and tickets to get free dining you pay PS50 per person deposit and again would need to cancel and rebook and I would imagine you would have to pay your deposit again as you are totally cancelling a reservation and making a completely different one?

We looked into changing resorts for 2015 when my auntie and uncle decided to come and we could have changed but we would have stuck with the offer we originally booked with (free dining) and didn't qualify for the offer that was on at the time for the deluxe

Hope this makes sense!

WM, free dining starts on the 23rd of April and if you get a quote between now and then Virgin will honour the price and give you the free dining. It's worth remembering you will only get quick service dining at PORS, if you book a deluxe you will get free full dining. You can pay the difference to upgrade your dining however it is often very little price difference between the upgrade cost and the move into a deluxe hotel (admittedly usually OKW or SSR).

If you book through Disney they are more inclined to change your booking and not charge you a fee than if you use someone like Virgin. It's worth thinking about, we booked though a TA once and swore never again as they charged us to ADD more days to our booking!

Booking through Virgin, I have no idea what you can do. I was only referring to booking directly through Disney.

Without starting a new thread here..A friend was at my door last night..She stayed offsite last year ( first Florida vacation ) but this year she is staying onsite at POFQ with free dining plan..However her hubby wants to upgrade to a deluxe..Everything is booked via Disney..Will she loose her free dining plan.?...Also she has been quoted approx $1.500 ( That's one thousand five hundred dollars ) to upgrade for 12 nights..Will she get free dining at the deluxe with that upgrade price..
