Potential ADR's. Your thoughts

We're heading to the World this October and so the planning has begun. Well, it began a long time ago but anyway Wink We are thinking about making a few ADR's and here is where we are thinking:
Boma- for breakfast
The Plaza- for lunch
Sci Fi Dine in- for supper
Paradiso37- lunch or supper. We probably won't make an ADR for this and just take our chances. If we can get a table great, if not, maybe make an ADR next trip.

For anyone who has eaten at any of these places, what did you think? Would you return? We haven't been to any of these places before so I'd like to hear what you thought.
Also, are there any places we should consider instead? What are your favourite places?

Boma is our hands-down favorite breakfast spot.

I haven't tried Boma or Paradiso37 yet (they are both on the list for my next trip). The Plaza and Sci Fi are good choices

Are you staying at AKL.?...Boma gets great reviews, but the reason I ask is that Sanaa and Jiko are both awesome..Apart from that it looks good to me..

I've only done Boma for dinner, which is awesome.

Sci-Fi is a lot of fun, but the food is quite average.

Sci-Fi is always a favourite of ours, they used to do an amazing BLT soup but its gone now but they do have fried pickles and vanilla Coke!!!! These are really, really good. The whole place has an amazing atmosphere and its normally quit chilled, so great on a hot day.

Paradiso 37 fast became a must for us over the last two trips, each trip we went twice. The fish tacos and the 'from the land' plater are soooo good.

Breakfast at Boma is fine, lots of fresh fruit and the jungle juice is a must.

Sci-Fi is a favorite for us! It is def. my husband's favorite. I would probably go for lunch though unless you want a sandwich or burger for dinner. They have a like one steak on the menu I think.

We've eaten there at least 5 times and have never had a bad experience!

Spook, it is good, but if your just a party of two, I do think they try to rush you out. It can also be a meat overload.

Boma for dinner is more interesting and a better value than o'hanas unless you are a carnivore. Both times at o'hanas we felt rushed. I also found that most of the meat at o'hanas was way over cooked.

But that could just be bad luck on our timing. The reviews are usually pretty good.

Our sons loved both of our dinner ADRs at Bomas and insisted we go back for the second trip. We have it on our list for the next one too. I agree that the meat is done well, but we didn't feel that there was less of it than others. Also so much variety. I am just not in the majority that cares for Zebra Domes.... sarcastic

DH has eaten at Sci Fi, but he has two complaints that probably don't affect a couple. First if you have more than 2 people in your party you are looking at the back of people's heads instead of talking. Second, he is 6'6" tall and he felt he was folded into the seat. I know they have tables too, but his friend who took him wanted him to "experience" it.

For the next trip we are doing 50's Primetime because our friends are outgoing and I imagine he will have a blast with the CM/wait staff.

We haven't gone to the Plaza because first, it's a TS and a bit costly otherwise, AND more importantly, my DH loves Cosmic Rays OR Harbour over looking the crowd. muchlove
Since he's really happy then, I enjoy it even more.

Let us know what your report is and we can all learn from the experience

Paradiso37 is a must for us! It is our tradition to make it there the first night and get our vacation started. We've never made an ADR and haven't had to wait more than 20 minutes (we never visit during peak times though..) Good chance to grab a margarita and appreciate we've made it. The food is excellent, and as a margarita enthusiast I love all their different options. Our past trip we luckily got a table outside on the deck and even timed it perfectly so we could see fireworks from I think Wishes..? in the distance. It was lovely, I would highly recommend.

Thanks Allie and Spook we are. As far as either being or feeling rushed at Ohana, as far as we are concerned neither was apparent to us. Food was great, and beleive me they kept bring it. Ohana's reputation lives on as far as we are concerned. Delicious!
