Questions about the annual pass

1. Are they park hoppers?

2. Do they get you into the water parks and Disney Quest?

3. Does your year begin the first time you use them, or when you purchase them?

Thanks in advance.

1) Yes, you can park hop with an annual pass

2) The premium annual pass will get you in to the water parks but not Disney Quest. The regular annual pass will only get you in to AK, Epcot, HS & MK

3) Both. If you buy a voucher for an annual pass either from Disney's website or at the Disney store your year starts when exchange the voucher the actual pass at Disney (ei. you buy the voucher on 5/16/13 but don't exchange it until 3/23/14 your year would start on 3/23/14). If you buy the annual pass while at Disney your year starts when you purchase it (ei. you buy the pass at AK on 5/16/13 your year would start on 5/16/13).

We have the premium annual pass through DVC and we are able to get into Disney Quest with it.

Interesting. I used the compare feature on DW website to look at both the annual pass & the premium annual & it doesn't list entrance to Disney Quest as a "benefit" of either pass.

Thanks, folks. I wanted to be sure that if I purchase annual passes online the year won't start until we actually use them, otherwise there wouldn't be much incentive to purchase in advance. Also wanted to be sure they were park hoppers. I was just curious about the water parks/Disney Quest; we still have several minor park admissions on two no-expiration passes from three years ago.

I would love to get annual passes and cobble two (or three?) trips together on one pass, starting this November and ending sometime during the 2014 Food and Wine Festival, but we'll see whether that works out.

Hubby just asked: is the price of the annual pass the same online as it is at the parks?

You are right! DisneyQuest does not show up on the compare! CRAZY! I would think that would be a huge selling point.

I looked a little further, though, and the Premium AP DOES include it.

Sure it does. Check under the second to last box.

Another AP question!!

Right now, I have a 2 day park hopper as part of my Tower of Terror race package. I haven't paid off the package yet (will do that in August). The tickets are at the race discount ($145 for 2 day PH). I think I saw somewhere that you can't upgrade discount tickets to an annual pass? Is this true or do they just charge you the difference btwn the AP and the discount tix (because I imagine even if you upgrade a non-discount ticket, they charge you the difference btwn an AP and the amount you paid for a ticket)?

I plan to call the rundisney peeps later this week or early next to see if I can take the tickets off my package b/c I'm going to buy an AP since I'm running Princess as well now. During a previous conversation, they told me they couldn't help with APs, so I thought I'd ask here before I give them a call!! If I can't take them off, I am just wondering what my options are (b/c if I have to pay those tickets separately, it may not make sense to do the AP + those tickets). Confused yet? Yeah, me too!.
