Realistic Travel Times

I've heard way too many travel times between WDW destinations, and I really honestly don't know which one to trust!

And then I'd find one..like in the Unofficial Guide I have, and there'd be comments on here that'd be like, "it definitely takes more time than X:XX to get from point A to point B!"

I'll be staying at BWI. How long would it take to get to: DTD, DHS, Epcot, MK, and AK?

I'm expecting big times for MK, AK, and especially DTD. The Unofficial Guide said 25 minutes to walk to DHS...okay..I can understand that. But by boat it's still 25min?

Whatcha think?

Thanks!

The boat probably wont take that long, but it really just depends on time of day and crowd levels. From the Boardwalk it has to stop at at least one, if not 2 resorts. (I don't remember exactly how many stops are between DHS and Epcot) But its not a speed boat, so its just a relaxing ride. Also, if there are a lot of people waiting to get on at a certain stop, they will take a while to get on and find a seat...if there are enough seats (we once had to wait an HOUR in line at the Dolphin to get to Epcot because the first boat was full)... And the boat only comes every once in a while, so plan on having to wait either at the hotel or at the park especially at peak times like right before the parks open and right after the fireworks.

There are actually three stops BETWEEN Epcot and HS, they are A: The swolphin, B: Y&B club, and C: the Boardwalk.
They try (at least theoretically) to schedule ALL boats, busses, monorails and rickshaws 20 minutes between pickups, and we all know that don't work, Right Ladies and Gentlemen and GUS?? laugh

I don't know about all, but from BWI to Epcot is a straight shot, so it's not long at all (after you wait for the boat to arrive.) Tip: Be sure you're in the right line, or you could end up at the wrong park. mickey

As for DTD, MK, and AK, I always budget an hour anytime I use a bus. That way, if it's less, you're pleasantly surprised. If you're headed for an ADR, you might want to budget 1 hour + 15 minutes (since you should always try to arrive early for your ADR if possible.)

Hopefully, this will provide you a little shortcut, without having to keep too much in your memory. And the "backdoor" entrance to Epcot is the bomb Smile I LOVE walking right into World Showcase!

I'm not sure how accurate the information is but this site has a transportation wizard which includes travel times.
