Resort pools and "guests" from other resorts - Yes? No? Maybe?

Hi everyone,

General pool question...

Let's say we're staying at the Yacht Club with access to SAB, and we have friends staying at say, the Poly....

Can our friends enjoy SAB with us as our guests? And vice-versa?

Thanks!

I am not sure about the Polynesian, but I know that in the busy season, they would go around and check everyone's room key to make sure you were supposed to be at the pool/beach area. If not, you were asked to leave...even if you were a guest of someone staying there. Right now that pool is under construction, so they are sending Polynesian guests to Typhoon Lagoon as an alternative.
I used to work at the Yacht and Beach Club and they are VERY strict about the rules at Storm Along Bay. Under no circumstances will they allow guests who are not staying at the Beach Club, Beach CLub Villas or the Yacht Club use those facilities. They ask to see proof that you are staying in their resort at the gate to Storm Along Bay. That is the one resort where even if you are a DVC member and are staying at another DVC resort they will not let those members use Storm Along Bay. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Sad( It is possible that you can use the quiet pools at the Yacht and Beach Club, though. If that doesn't help, you might want to check out the water parks, or if you are DVC members and your friends are as well, you could check out one of the pools at another DVC resort.

Ken, unfortunately no. SAB is exclusively for guests staying at Yacht Club & Beach Club. The Poly will be the same when it opens the Volcano Pool again. They do check bands and room keys. Elle had you covered with her answer

I concur with Mark and Elle.

When Becks534 got married, I did put her name on our Villa (even though she wasn't staying with us) so that she could have full access to the amenities. I'm not sure if that would work for you or not. It depends on how many "empty" spots you have in your room, and if you planned on doing the dining plan.

Thanks for the info guys. awesome

When we stayed at YC back in January, it was too cold for swimming (well for us anyway), but we did go into SAB just to walk around and check it out. The CM at the gate scanned our MBs upon entry and referred to me as Captain Ken. LOL.

This was just a question of curiosity mostly. I guess what goes on in SAB stays in SAB. LOL. mickey

What do you need with SAB when the golden sands of the Crescent Lake beach are right there beckoning? Just mind the brain-eating amoebas if you go in the water. awesome

Haha!!! Yes, of course... and don't forget the flock of seagulls that reside on the beach in the winter months. LOL.
