Resort Time At The Bar..

Before I head off to Neverland, I was reading people's views on how much time they spend at their resorts...I agreed that we never spend much time in our room, but at night when coming back from the parks, I do enjoy a beer at the resort bar before heading for my room..At POFQ, I loved the jazz dude and enjoyed a beer before heading off to our room..However I was never a fan of Yee Haw at PORS...Anyway..Here's the point of my question..When coming back from the parks at night, do you head for an adult drink at your resort bar, or do you just head back to your room for a nightcap... rolling

As neither of us are drinkers, we head back to our room with a nice warm tea mickey

Well it all depends on what time we are getting back to the resort...if it is after 1 probably not. But if we get back around 9 - 10 pm we will stop at the bar and have a couple of drinks before heading to our room.
And we will be staying at POFQ so would you like us to tell them hello from the Ruler of Scotland? laugh

We usually enjoy our adult beverages with dinner. Or if it's the Food and Wine Festival, all through the day.

We always stop at the pool bar at whatever resort we are staying at and grab a couple drinks, usually taking at least one each back to the room. We're night owls so we like to stay up and reflect over cocktails on another great day at the parks Smile

Sometimes we head to the bar for a nightcap and sometimes we use our lovely resort mugs and get a warm beverage and sit out on our balcony at WL.

at least once a trip we will stop at the bar at the poly usually mid day though for a break, and once at the hotel for a to go back to the room if the bar has a good signature drink if not just back to the room we have stuff there.

Picture this - 2006....
Animal Kingdom Lodge...
Two love birds off to Walt Disney World to get married..

We spent quite a few evenings sampling the cocktails and african beers at the bar. - We'd also buy bottles of wine from the store and sample them in our room...

spin on a few years - 2 kids later - We're all zonked out after the parks - Can barely lift the glass to my mouth after keeping up with the mix of excitment and moaning from the little ones..
On the last trip - My "booze" was a morning cup of black coffee on the balcony before anyone else was awake.. bliss!

Well, it's usually shower and bed after I get to the room after a long day at parks. I mean, I wouldn't want to be hungover and deal with the crowds of the parks the very next day because I drank one alcoholic drink too many! But if I want a quick drink after a long day at the parks, it's water or a quick refill of root beer or Sprite in my refillable mug.

Ok, here's my bar story on our trip. We never got back to the room until really late, so the only time we went in the bar at POR was when we went back to change for MNSSHP. It was around 5 and as we came back through, DH decided he would like to have a beer before we headed back to MK. Ok. So he gets his beer and we sit down at a table for him to drink it. I really wasn't thinking a thing in the world about it until I look over and this young boy (about 8 years old) is mouth open, wide-eyed watching the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz have a brew!

I nudged DH and whispered, "Honey, you know I don't care if you have a beer, but maybe you can down that pretty quick?" He looks at me funny and I nod towards the boy, he looks perplexed then you see the light bulb go off. He downs it and we leave quickly. We felt bad then DH kind of grins and says, "Well, his parents DID have him in a bar..."

VelcroPooh thank you so much for sharing that it was my laugh of the day. I can only imagine what that little boy was thinking. laugh

All I could think of was the next time it was on TV, this poor child pointing at it, while at Grandma's house, "Gramma! I saw him drink a beer!" SMH

This past trip we spent a ibt of time getting drinks while on the way back to the room. If we were on the way to our room in the middle of the day for a break we would stop by the pool bar and if it was the end of the day we would stop at the regular bar.

I usually have a bottle of wine in my room, however if I don't then yes I do make a stop for a night cap.

I usually have a small plastic container of brandy for DH that goes in the frig and then he mixes in his Disney mug. This year we thought of ordering a bottle of wine with the bubbly and maybe some beer, but we too are doing two days at F&W and might just take it easy the other days. Of course at MK it's easy to take it easy.
