Rides...

So I just found out I am about 5 weeks pregnant and will be 8 weeks when we go. I know disney has warning of which rides are ok and not for pregnant women. And I know for sure no space mountain, star tours, splash mountain, big thunder railroad. Can you guys give me a few others that you know I shouldn't ride. Thanks!

My mom went on the Rebel Yell Backwards 5 months pregnant with me. The Rebel Yell is an old wooden racing coaster. I turned out a little strange but fine Laughing out loud.

congrats

I found this page on the Disney website which has maps (PDFs) of each park. Rides which expectent mothers should not ride are marked with a red triagle.

Oh, congratulations! That's wonderful!

One that I know of off the top of my head that we haven't mentioned are the Grand Prix racecars in Tomorrowland...just in case some fool behind you would bump you really hard. But JoAnn is absolutely right...there are warnings on the ones your should avoid, and although it would probably be fine...I'm a BIG believer in erring on the side of caution. (Had to send my kiddo with Grandma on The Barnstormer when I was 6 months pg with DS1. Hated it...but it was best, I think.)

Good luck!

I know that at guest services in the parks they have guides to all the rides for people with disabilities. You could see if those say anything about pregnancies, or if they have something similar for that.

Congrats by the way. biggrin

Star Tours can rock you around some, and I agree with the others. I went on the Safari at AK and my mom had a fit and thought I was terrible. There is a warning (I ignored it) and didn't think it was too bad. I was way pregnant too. I was at HS the day before I was due with my daughter, but we just went to walk around, I really couldn't get on and off any rides by that time! She was born 2 days later, September 28 will be her 12th birthday!

Congrats! muchlove

Hi Julie,
Thanks yeah I was planning on doing the safari as I ride public transportation every day and can't imagine it being any rockier then BART. But am/was not planning on any of the big thrill rides like you all mentioned.

Yeah Bart is rough and when I commute back and forth from work there is never any seats, and since I am still newly pregnant I don't feel right asking someone else to give me a seat. But as soon as I start showing I am going to have to its to hard to stand. I literally get so exhausted just commuting home bad huh? But its better then driving so I can't complain to much....

It's funny that you mention the safari in particular. I was at AKL at about 7 weeks into my pregnancy, with friends of my husband's, who didn't know I was expecting. I wouldn't go on this, but I wouldn't explain why. She thought I was crazy!

I agree...that's how I always quantify things...is it any worse than riding in a car would be? Still, I've always erred on the side of caution. But that's just me Smile
