This is indeed a sad day for the Disney family, the Disney company and all the Disney lovers in the world. R.I.P. Roy you will be missed. My condolences to the family.
What a sad coincidence just crossed my mind, YESTERDAY was the anniversary of Walt's passing and TODAY is the day that Roy was called to join him.

I read somewhere that Walt, Lillian, Roy O. and now Roy E. all passed away in December.
Also read about him being instrumental in ousting not just Miller, but also Eisner. He seems to be well-loved at all hierarchical levels of the Disney company. The Animation Guild blog basically says that if it wasn't for his leadership reviving Disney animation, that there might not BE Disney animation right now. Shudder to think...
