Salutations from The Capital of The Nation!

The nation being the United States, that is. My name is Erin T. Aardvark, and I'm from Washington, DC. Well, technically, I'm from Maryland, but I live about an 45-60 minutes away from Washington, DC. I've been a Disney nut for as long as I can remember. My favorite Disney character is Donald Duck, my favorite Disney animated movie is "The Little Mermaid" (so needless to say, Ariel is my favorite Disney princess), my favorite Disney live action movie is the original "That Darn Cat" (the one with Hayley Mills and Dean Jones), and my favorite Disney World ride is "It's a Small World" (I'm prepared for the onslaught of IASW haters). Oh yes, and my favorite Disney TV shows are "Ducktales" and "Darkwing Duck" (what can I say, I love the Disney Ducks). I'm 31, happily single, and I live with my fellow Disney lovin' older sister (she's more of a Disney nut than I am, but she'd rather be a lurker online in general), and I'm obsessed with the cuteness that is my four-legged furry feline baby, Snowball.

I also tend to get carried away with introducing myself when I join a new forum.

welcome, Erin! We live in PA now (just north of the MD line), but DH is from the DC are (College Park) and we lived in NoVa and worked in DC for 3 years, so we're pretty familiar with your neck of the woods!

We're big cat folks too--actually, there are a bunch of feline friends on the board! That Darn cat is an excellent choice (the original of course!! I've never seen the remake.)

No IASW hate here! I don't know that it's my favorite, but my favorite changes daily--so maybe tomorrow!

Tell your sister this is a great forum to start on. Everyone here is so super friendly! awesome

Hi, Erin! I'm also a cat lover, not that you couldn't have figured that out on your own, and I grew up in DC's Maryland suburbs,but now live in Pennsylvania just a hop skip and jump from our fellow ailurophile, alicemouse. So, tell us more about your CAT. (I mean, we have to have our priorities straight.)

Hi and Welcome Erin! I knew we would be about the same age before you posted it cause I love all the same stuff too! The little mermaid, ducktails (awooowhooo!), they were just about my time as a child when I was impressionable. I also loved Gummie Bears (I take it you got that show in the USA? I'm in the UK)

OK, here are my answers to some of the questions:

crazycatperson: great avatar! I've never seen Marie in the parks! My cat is named Snowball, she's all white, and a mixed breed (mein sister and I think she's part Turkish angora and part Siamese). She's five years old, and we've had her since August 2007 (she was two months old when we adopted her). Here's a pic, from May of 2013. I have more recent ones, but I haven't uploaded them on my computer yet. BTW, her tummy is blocking her other leg. She's got all four of them, just so you know.

When it comes to kitty tummies, resistance is futile.

RobynPrincess: Yep, we had Gummi Bears here in the US. Not one of my all time favorite shows, but still cute. As for my next trip to the World, I don't know yet. I'm currently unemployed (laid off due to budget cuts, which stinks) and going to school, so sis and I are shooting for hopefully 2015. We usually go together (mein sister is my best friend), and with her being the only one of us who's working, well, you get the general idea.

Welcome Erin!! Where in MD are you?? I'm on the other side of the river, out near Dulles. We're practically neighbors!! Skins or Ravens?? Caps?? Nats or Os?? (not that I care about the last one, I'm not a baseball fan!)

alicemouse - I think your Isabelle has slightly longer hair than Snowball. Whatever the case, she's pretty! Isabelle, I mean.

JMUDukz - Germantown, and I actually root for the Detroit Lions and the Cincinatti Bengals (cat teams, of course), but I pick the Skins for the hometeam. And resistance is also futile for the Ducktales theme. It's an earworm, I tell you!

Allie - that's okay about "small world". I realize some people hate that ride with a passion, others love it, and still others have mixed feelings about it.

I don't think I'd have such a dislike for it if 1) it wasn't SO long and 2) I hadn't gotten stuck on it once right as we were about to reach the end. I don't believe anyone could like that ride after being on it for over 30 minutes (total time of ride + stuck time) eek eek
