Seasonal passes?

I just got my 1st job and I was thinking about getting my mom and I seasonal passes to WDW. We go there a few times a year, which equals hundreds of dollars, so wouldn't it make more sense to get a seasonal pass? They did go up in price, to about $320 each. The payment plan is about $19 a month. I'm making about $320 a month, saving some for college, a car, and spending some on my dance classes, but I could take out $40 for Disney. What do you guys think? Is it worth it? There are some large block out dates, but we tend to go during quieter times anyway.

If its in your budget...go for it especially if it saves money over time.

I think it's definitely worth it! Once you pay, you can go as much as you please! I'm sure you would go more often if yoy already have the passes. That's just my opinion. I would especially do it if you live relatively close.

Agreed!

Seconded, BUT only if it is in your budget. But also don't forget to allow for sudden must haves.

First, congratulations on getting the job!

If it's within your budget it's probably fine. Not sure if you planning getting the passes as a surprise, but I'd talk with your mom first to get her opinions on it. She may want to go half and half so you're not paying for all of it, even though it's awesome that you offered.

The payment plan seems reasonable, and if you have enough money to cover your other expenses then it could be a nice thing for you and her to share. As others have said, you may even go more often if you have passes. Just make sure that it's not stretching your budget to the limit. You need to be able to have a little to put away for unexpected stuff!

I think I will actually be getting the passes for my sister and I, since I will be getting my license in a week so I can just drive us there! Super excited Smile

We have the annual passes and we go once or twice a week in the summer. I think the seasonal passes are blocked off some during the summer though. We definitely get our $ worth. You just have to be careful if you go a lot, we don't usually eat there, it would break the budget if we ate there every time we go. We pack snacks or lunches and eat when we change parks. It's a special treat when we eat there. We also freeze water bottles to take w us. The seasonal passes do not include parking, so you can park at Boardwalk and go through the back gate at EPCOT. If you will go regularly, it is definitely a value, it is for us but we go more often than most because we have good schedules with summers and holidays off. There's lots to consider, but I recommend it for local Disney lovers! mickey

Thanks for the tips, Julie! I did not know about the parking at Boardwalk - that's a great idea. I will definitely take a bag with snacks and drinks. I think I will be getting a pass now! I'm excited! And for the person who asked, I'm 16 and 1/2 Smile

That's awesome..so that means you're in the same grade as me! I'm going to be a junior this year, and I assume you are too! I'm 15 and a half but I skipped a grade when I was younger, so I'm the youngest one in my grade. Anyways..back to the seasonal pass thing.. laugh
