Soarin' Distortion

I had heard lots of comments in the past about the horrible distortion of Soarin' when seated at the very end. But we'd never been seated that far out so hadn't given it much thought. Until now.

On our first ride on Thursday we found ourselves boarding through Concourse C and Joe and I were the very very very last 2 seats on the right end.

At first it was subtle but noticable, but by the time we got to the Eiffel Tower it was so bad all we could do is laugh. Who knew it was so curved like that?? laugh

We had a second ride the next day and were nearer to the center and it was fabulous as usual. But if my first experience on the ride was on a far end, I would have been really disappointed.

Who's been in that seat and can relate? Should Disney have cut off those last few seats and sacrificed quantity for quality?

Also curious if FoP has similar issues on the very ends. Our 2 rides were middle right and middle left.

I've sat on the end. It is bad. I'm usually in the middle for FOP so haven't noticed it

I always ask for and wait for the middle section. I prefer top middle but either of the 3 sections are fine.

It is soooo terrible, I can't believe this wasn't figured out and corrected someway.

We've ridden FOP 5 times and haven't noticed any distortion. The last time we rode we were in a different area and the video looked different to me (looked like a new scene but wasn't) but definitely wasn't distorted.

Unless you ride right in the middle (middle seat of concourse B) for Soarin' the Eiffel Tower always has a lean on it. I agree - they should be able to fix that.

Yup, and now we only ride Concourse B. I'll wait waiting

From what we've heard, they are actually looking into re-filming a few of the bits that are more noticeably curved with a different style of camera. No word on if it's a go for sure or when filming or implementation would take place.

Wow! Interesting, especially since it's pretty new footage as is. That would be great to hear though.
