Solo WDW day

It's been really fun watching SF plan the solo trip, and it really got me thinking about what I would do with a day or two solo in WDW.

I think I'd start the day early at MK with one of those giant cinnamon rolls from the bakeron on Main Street. I'd sit at one of the tables out front and just watch all the people coming into the MK.

Then:
Space Mountain fastpass
Fantasyland Rides
Ride Space Mountain

Leave MK before it gets too crowded and go back to the hotel for a run and a swim. Maybe read a book by the pool for a while.

I'd then go into Epcot and get fish and chips in the UK pavilion for lunch (hopefully in time to watch one of the street shows there). Then I'd go shop around the world (Italy, Japan, China, Norway... biggrin ).

Late afternoon would have to be parasailing, I think!

I'd time my dinner to watch Spectromagic at Tony's Town Square (great idea from the other thread!)

Then go watch Wishes from right in front of the hub.

I'd stay in the MK and shop until the crowds emptied out, then, if I wasn't too tired, I'd head over to Jellyrolls until their 2AM closing! mickey

What a great day!

What would you do?

My WDW Solo Day:

Get up and go ride Splash Mountain 10x in the morning.
Crystal Palace Breakfast (Eeyore gets mad if I don't stop by)
Go ride the WEDWay around for a while, while I digest.
Go chill in a Hammock on the Poly Beach.
Chili and Ice Cream from Beaches and Cream
Hang in World Showcase for the afternoon and watch Wishes.
Dinner at Teppan Edo

Yay, I've started a trend! Your plans sound great. Are you sure you haven't done this solo thing before? wink

Whew, you guys wear me out! I'm too old for that 'dawn to 2AM stuff'!!! Here's my rather rough look at what I'd do!

Morning -
I'd love to start out back in World Showcase when Epcot first opens. I love it back there in the morning when there is no one around. Might hit a few of the exhibits and shops. Probably take 2 to 2 1/2 hours there.

Lunch-
I have no idea what I'd do for breakfast, but I'd certainly have lunch in the Mexico pavilion.

Afternoon -
Since I'm dreaming here, I'd head back to the Poly after lunch for a couple of hours by the pool. I'd probably have a quick nap before heading to the Magic Kingdom. I'd make the loop around all the lands, making sure to hit Pirates and the Haunted Mansion. (Since I'm by myself, I'd probably be all sentimental and stuff, and I'd probably hit 'Small World') Wouldn't eat anything big, just maybe a snack to hold me over until later. Again, probably 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

Early evening -
Wander Downtown Disney for a bit, checking the shops, people watching.

Dinner -
Have a few drinks at the bar at California Grill, arranging the time so that you can take the break to watch the fireworks from the walkway up there.

Post dinner - to BED! Been a longgggggggg day!

Fun thread!

AM:
I think I'd start out by SLEEPING IN and getting some room service breakfast on my balcony at the Boardwalk (facing the Boardwalk, of course!). I'd follow that with a stroll into DHS to ride Toy Story Mania a few times and hone my skills, and take a couple of rides on Tower of Terror.

PM:
Lunch at Chefs de France--a window table, sil vous plait. Then go on the Behind the Seeds tour (always wanted to do that).

Get an ice cream cone at Beaches and Cream before sugar crashing at the pool for a while.

EVENING:
Probably head into Magic Kingdom (which has Extra Magic Hours tonight) and get a dog at Casey's while watching Spectromagic.

Hit House of Blues for a concert that night!

I think a tour would be a great way to spend the afternoon hours when it's so busy in the parks.

If I laze by the WL pool all day am I defeating the point of the question?

I don't think so! My solo days at WDW included some lazing by the pool (a lot of it, in fact) silly

Not at all!

The great thing about solo WDW is that you can do whatever you want whenever you want. No bickering with your spouse, no whining from your kids, no having to leave something before you're done enjoying it.

And, yes, you can eat Mickey bars all day long if you wish. (I know you didn't ask, but it's what you're thinking.)

Hi,

Though all of my trips to WDW except the first have been solo, I've had fewer solo days than one might think; because all but two of my seven solo trips were during MouseFest, I was always meeting people and going to events for which I had previously signed up online.

I usually park-hop and go on my favorite rides and see my favorite shows. I'll go to MK and ride POTC and Splash Mountain; to EPCOT for SE and Test Track; AK for EE; and DHS for TOT and RNRC. If I don't park hop, I might go to Beaches and Cream or to Ghirardelli's for a female ice cream sundae.

Many times I end the day at World Showcase, watching Illuminations.

This is a new one on me. What is a 'female' ice cream sundae?

A friend on another Disney board told me.

Ice cream sundaes have gender. Female ones don't have nuts.

I had to ask.

Thank you, dsoup.

The concept is a silly one, and probably sexist, but I didn't know who would post next,

I'd never heard that one either. If MT hadn't I would have asked what a female sundae was.
