Something happened today..

I realized that I am EIGHT days out from 180 days.

Apparently not having a countdown clock words against me!

We are on the quick service dining plan but we know we want to do two table service meals..the question..where the crap do we go?!?!

Well, ok, that's not entirely true..we know we are going to Rose & Crown. We'll have to show Holden were we got engaged. He'll probably not care though seeing as how he's barely one.

Anyway..we have one more we want to make. We were thinking character breakfast..but we aren't sure. We don't want to do a character meal if Holden is going to be terrified of them..as he was of the cow at Chick Fil A.
So that means we have one more kid friendly ADR to make. I'd like to try somewhere new for us..but we've been almost everywhere so that's a tough one. So suggest away..where should we go?!?!

Any location preferences? Yak and Yeti might be fun for a kid, although I guess at 1 he'd probably not be that into it. Maybe 50's Prime Time?

Bella, Cape May Cafe is one I would recommend, it more of a laid back Character Breakfast and its easy to just wave the Characters away if he looks like he's getting upset. Plus they have really good food at the buffet. That's where we took our family in June with our granddaughter, she was a little older , 18 months. She was leery at first, but she warmed up to the characters pretty fast.

Rainforest Cafe is a good one for kids. That new T-Rex one looks great too, like a dinosaur version of Rainforest Cafe, but if he's only 1 then maybe he wouldn't appreciate it! It might just scare him. In fact, maybe Rainforest Cafe would be a little loud for him too. I dunno, I have pretty much no experience in dealing with 1 year olds!

Having zero experience with kids, I am of no help. I'd probably just choose a a place I wanted to go and assume the magical Disney team will make it kid-friendly.

If all else fails, here are some suggestions from a post over at allears.net:

Cape May Cafe is a good one. I'd also suggest 'Ohana's breakfast character meal. You don't have to get up -- they bring all the food to you -- so there's no problem with back and forth from the table. Also you can ask for a table in the corner so that Holden can watch the craziness from afar instead of be right in the middle of it all.

Also, noise-wise, 'Ohana might be a bit quieter since the ceilings are low and there's carpeting in there.

Another recommendation is the princess breakfast at Akershus in Norway. Since they're all face characters and all girls, there's not much to be scared of. If he's a kid who likes attention, he'll certainly get it there. Also, this is anther quiet, low-stimulation character meal.

Finally, Garden Grill is another one where you don't have to get up from your table, and you can tuck Holden into the middle of the booth so that he's not getting too close to the characters.

Found this "What character meal is right for you?" post with lots of charts and info that might help: http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/disney-world-character-meals/

That's a great suggestion..he'll actually be 18 months when we take him there!

Annie, yum we love Ohana..but we've never done it for breakfast that might be worth considering!

I never even thought about the Garden Grill. Holden is a pretty laid back kid so I really doubt he'll care where we are as long as he gets some mac and cheese.

A fun, kid friendly place is Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge. We have been several times, despite not having any kidlets of our own!! The atmosphere is fun, we really enjoy seeing all the families having so much fun. That said, the food is really good too...it's BBQ. We have taken our friends there in the past with their kids and everyone likes the food...Barbara especially loves the cornbread. DH loves the ribs. We usually get the Canyon Skillet, which is all you can eat.

This is a great suggestion. We like to do the breakfast, but it's fun no matter which meal.

Not character, and not breakfast...but we love Raglan Road. Wonderful food, beautiful decor...and killer mac and cheese for the kiddos Smile Might be a little similar to R&C, but wanted to throw it out there anyway since we love it so much.
