Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction has been confirmed by aCNN Reporter who was amongst the first to ride the new attraction to be 18 minutes long!

That sounds so amazing, and I can't wait to give it a try. I may have to book another Disney trip tout suite! Is anyone else looking forward to this?

SO excited! We watched a couple of videos because, even though I didn't want it spoiled, DD was worried about the drop we had heard about as he does NOT like Tower of Terror! So glad we ended up watching though as the drop looks like super tame and the reviews we listed to said it is nothing like Tower of Terror and not to be concerned. Penny went from not wanting to ride to being the most excited I've probably ever seen her. yay

Guess what we did this morning! Got to the park at 6 am, they let us in the gates at 6:27 am, scanned at 6:32 and we snagged boarding passes as Group 22. We rode star tours and smugglers run (15 minutes for SR), our boarding party was called at 7:32 and we were through the ride before 8 am.

It's ridiculously awesome!!!! I wont post much to avoid spoilers but here's a few Smile

Here's an alternative approach to getting up at a really ridiculous hour....this morning we got up at 7, drove to HS (took 10 minutes), arrived at 7:10, no parking backlog, no lines at security, no lines at the scanner, were in the park at 7:20 and got boarding passes right away for Group 69. We figured we have SDD FPs for this evening anyhow so let's see if we can do RoTR too. Based in the past few days were expecting a late afternoon or early evening push notification, and then have 2 hours.

Joe says they ran out of boarding passes around 7:50 am. That's a lot earlier than Monday 8:40ish) and Tuesday (8:20).

For comparison, today we were boarding Group 69 and we were called around 5:35 pm.

We entered the queue at 5:44 and were done and exited at 6:52. So just over an hour.

On Monday morning our Group (22) was called at 7:32 am, we were through the queue in 10 minutes and done with the entire ride in under 30 minutes.I

Second time on the ride was even better than the first yeah

How long are you actually on a ride vehicle vs. walking or milling around the attraction moving from one area to another?

We timed it at just under 5 minutes from the time we got into the actual ride car and started moving, to the end where we got out of the ride car. I think they say the overall "ride experience" is around 18 minutes, which includes the other activities to get to the actual ride vehicle.

confused Hrmm... I'm not sure what I think about that "padding." In general I don't include queue time as ride time, even if it has you doing something interactive, such as on Flights of Passage while they sync you up to the avatar. Do you feel that the overall experience that you weren't on the ride was exciting or interactive enough to warrant them calling it an 18 minute ride?

Honestly, no. It's more distraction time in my opinion. Certainly kinda cool but I'd liken it to the avatar sync. I think they say it's 4 difference "experiences" in that 18 minutes but only 1 is ride and 3 are distraction activities. They do accomplish that though!

Well, at least they provide a good distraction.
