Star Wars vs. Star Trek

I was having a discussion today with a friend who is a "Trekkie" (well maybe that's an overstatement) and I was curious if anyone on here prefers Star Trek to Star Wars? Obviously my bias is showing so don't be afraid to admit if you prefer the Trek.

Morning Brad, I'll admit Im sort of a Trekkie. I always preffered Star Trek Over Star Wars, not that I didn't like Star Wars. I still watch both of them when they are on if I can and have all the movies of both and the entire original series of Star Trek on CD. I have not seen that newest Star Trek movie yet though! I also had a remote that looked like a phaser, I have the Chess set from Star Trek. Go ahead, call me a Geek!

I love me some Star Trek. Star Wars is a cinematic institution. Star Trek is a fun, quirky never-know-what's-going-to-happen-next kind of series. You can make fun of Star Trek...you can't do that with Star Wars. It's almost too irreverant!

I like both, but I'd have to say I'm much more of a "fan" of Star Wars. I did watch the Next Generation pretty frequently in my youth though.

A remote that looked like a phaser? I hope you have pictures! Where do you buy something like that. Could make a great gift...

Like both, but if I had to pick, Star Trek, especially TNG.

I have to agree... But I'm a Wil Wheaton fan.

Oh Will Wheaton...he made one of the funniest moments on Big Bang Theory possible!

I liked the recent Star Trek movie...but never really got into it. I LOVE Star Wars though!

The new Star Trek movie was really promising. I hope they can keep it up with a sequel.
