Sun Block -- hats?

Do any of you wear hats in the parks to keep the sun off your face? I don't do baseball caps, but would really like to find a good hat to wear on heavy sun days.

Any suggestions? mickey

I have a hat that works well on hikes, but I'd feel silly wearing it to the parks.

Hats are a must have, for us, on a FL trip. They go a long way to keep you cool and help prevent sunburn. I don't know about you guys, but any part I can get away with not slathering on sunscreen is a bonus. With a hat, depending on the style, you don't have to worry about most of your face or even your neck if it's a brimmed hat. I usually bring a comfortable baseball cap, and one actual hat. Last year the hat was a white straw Panama, like this one. It's perfect for hot, sunny Disney days.

Do you wear Panama hats at home, too?

When and where appropriate (in the warm months), yes. I wear wool or felt fedoras in the cold months. Have another great warm weather hat from Henschel. It's packable, very breathable, and looks good in my opinion.

Another alternative to baseball caps (I have over fifty) is the straw hats that Disney sells. I have one from Disney and I have 4 others which I have purchased from various drag strips around the country I use those very often at various car shows that we go to. the only drawback to the straw hats is that I can't wear them in the vette with the top down. It is VERY hard to drive with one hand holding the hat from getting blown off in the wind, two hands for steering, and one hand for shifting gears. eek eek

I don't own one, but I've seen some great Safari hats in AK that would be great for keeping the sun off.

I'm all over this! I'm sure they're all over the place but does anyone remember a particular store that has them?

I think the theming in all of Dinoland is pretty awesome. I've heard people complain it isn't Disney enough, but they don't realize (I think) it is exactly how it's intended to be (parking lot stripes and all) and works great IMO.

I know the feeling, top down on a sunny day is great but not for the shy retiring type over here (see pics of my toy on the artistic photos thread). The baseball cap doesn't just stop the top of yuor head from burning but can double as a sunvisor too. It's my prefered choice of headgear on the rare occasions that i need a hat.
