Is Table Service To-Go Ordering About To Launch At Disney Resorts?

When I was in WDW this past week I had planned on doing some resort hopping to eat at quick-serve spots. However, I discovered that with the new COVID precautions I did not enjoy the resort quick-service restaurant experience at all (especially during lunch). So, I took the route of DIY room service and took my quick service meals back up to my room to eat in a more relaxed environment.

Today I saw this article and was super excited for the possibilities!

I absolutely love the thought of being able to get table service to-go at the Disney Resorts as it would give guests another opportunity for a great meal. I would have totally gone for this option if I could have picked up to go from Topolinos.

Do you think you would use this option on your vacation?

Right? Because I ate in my room a lot this week at one points I was looking around at everything thinking what a nice place it would be for a dinner party.

I am not sure what I think of this. I would think that unless your resort is very close by the food would not be hot. And, to me to go is never as good as eating there. I know, I am strange in that way. I swear it tastes different when they package something to go. My best example of this is pizza. It is entirely different when you bring it home instead of eating it there. When you eat it there, it is served to you right out of the oven. It is HOT. It is burn the roof of your mouth hot. The cheese is hot and stringy and full of ooey goodness. The crust is crisp! Even the second piece at the pizza place is not as good.

I would love to see room service return. I know it would still be not quite the same but it would at least be hot.

I think (and I could be wrong) that they are looking at this as a replacement for room service at the resorts. I get what you are saying about to-go never quite being the same - especially with pizza. I also swear that food tastes different when eating off china vs paper.
