Tables in Wonderland Events

I just saw this on the Disney Food Blog..

http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2010/06/25/tables-in-wonderland-july-events-great-movie-ride-food-and-wine-festival-and-more/

Both the events look really cool but The Great Movie ride even looks AWESOME!

Special Event The Great Movie Ride Dinner

Where: Disneyâs Hollywood Studiosâ¢

When: Friday, July 16 and Saturday, July 17, 2010; 7:30
â" 10 p.m.

Price: $155.00 per person, plus tax. Gratuity is
included.
Arrive at Disneyâs Hollywood Studios⢠and walk through the courtyard
of the Majestic Graumannâs Chinese Theatre. Then you will be invited to
come inside The Great Movie Ride after the attraction is closed with
exclusive backstage VIP access!

Weâve cleared the track for you to walk through and dine inside the
attraction where you will experience some of the most classic scenes in
motion picture history. Sets from Busby Berkeley musicals, crime dramas,
old-fashioned Westerns, and more!

Along time ago The Dave and I had The Disney Dining Experience pass..they totally didn't do stuff like this! Although even if we did had it I can't say I'd do it $300 for dinner is a bit nuts. ..but it'd totally be something we'd remember forever!

Call me crazy, but I think that's a pretty reasonable price too. I know the food's probably nothing special, but how often do you get to eat in a ride?

I've read different reviews about these Tables in Wonderland events, and I've found that the reviews were glaringly different; one extreme to the other. The one at The Great Movie Ride from last year was described as "disorganized" and "not recommended" by one reviewer and "magical" by another!

I always take reviews with a grain of salt anyway, I think that's just common sense.

I think we'd choose one of these, if we were to do it, rather than one at a resort. Being at a WDW attraction while it's closed is a Disney Geek's dream. We'll probably be at the parks enough this year to get Tables in Wonderland again, and we'll see if we can make one of these this time!

That'd be perfect if you're going in July, Imagineer!

I'd love to go to the F&W Festival one or the Great Movie Ride one. Those "in a ride" events usually cost dozens of thousands of dollars to put on -- if not more!

I bet some people were just expecting amazing food rather than primarily the experience of getting to be "behind the scenes."

I agree..I always try and take peoples reviews lightly. I've loved plenty of places that others have hated.

I was on Space Mountain once when it broke down..I suppose that's the closest I'll ever come to being on an attraction when it's closed. laugh
